'ey mates, i was wondering if an empire army could work without any combat state troops?
my list at 1600pts would consist of: 2x 10 knights, which the other has a priest leading them and the other has a captain on their front.
lord would bee pegasus riding wizard lord, who would be using shadows to make the knights work.
then some handguns, 2x5 pistoliers, (2x)mortar, cannon, hellblaster and maybe some flagellants.
and if the points allow the other knight block would be IC.
so tell me what you think mates.
It doesn't work because you'll never strip steadfastness from enemy infantry blocks. Cav make a decent hammer in the side of an enemy regiment, but only if you have a regiment locked with them already, and you're pretty sure that they won't be steadfast at the end of that round of combat (either because your infantry block already outrank them, or because you anticipate causing a metric butt-ton of casualties so that you will outrank them). Cav on their own, even combo-charging, almost never achieve this!
