Hey everyone. Um... There is a small Lustria tournament tomarow at my local hobby store, and we are all playing with small armies that eventually grow. No magic is allowed so far, and no users. So here is my 500pt army.
(Captain) Equipment: Lance, Full Plated Armour, Barded War Horse, Shield. 78pts.
Nine Reilksguard Knights
Five man squad of Panther Knights
If anyone has any advice on what I should change or add it would be awsome.
Are you going to be using the full lustria rules (events ect.)? If you are I think that cav. are at a disadvantage (some of these events are mean) plus cannons aren't quite as effective in small games.
Also when you say "no magic" is that mages and/or magic equipment?

Well the rules are set for no magic at all. No mages and No magic because it is such a small game.
I'm gonna stay put with my cannon for now though.Hmm.. What do you think I should take instead of the calvary then?
Personally I would take some millita and state troops, I find them to be quite effective and versitile for their cost in small games. I myself use lots of cannons and artillery in my empire army and they kick @$$ most of the time but I would have to take a Hellblaster, nothing will suvive a volley and they will certainly frighten opponents. Plus their so fun to shoot  .
Actually I was thinking of taking pistoleers instead of my great cannon. Or prehaps I could replace the knights with swordsmen and a detachment of free company, but I'm a little unconfortable with that because I work very well with Calvary.
i wouldnt take any warmachines in such a small game. if you roll poorly and the thing blows up that's a fifth of your army gone. pistoliers can pack quite a punch and with no magic all the pistoliers have to worry about is enemy ranged fire which shouldnt be that bad. it would probably be a good idea to use detachments too. possibly handgunners with a detach of freecompany if you want shooty or swordsmen with either crossbows / archers / free company. that's just my personal reccomendation.
goin by ur initial list i wuld say its not so great, knights might b a good idea to overpower in such a small game but ther offensive so ur cannon would b open, i would say with the diversity of empire choices, hero on foot goin with a state troop unit n then detachment of archers or handgunners or even xbowmen if u like, small unit of greatswords n if ne points left militia ^_^
Yeah, the knights weren't so good against the Ogres espeically the cannon because I NEVER got one shot on them because of the terrain. But the cannon did very well against high elfs, and chaos. This is how well I did.
2wins 1 losses.
I partly saved lustria today! Thanks everyone.
