    A few suggestions to help this list out. One, I see a lack of detachments in this list, and thats what makes Empire run. I would drop the unit of Halberdiers altogether. I would also trim down some handgunners. Using the points, I would bump up a unit to at least 16 with full command, and give them a detachment of 8 militia at least. I would then try and aquire at least 3 pistoliers. The pistoliers will be a definate aid in such low points.

    Just something to think about.

    He does have detatchments. Or did you mean more?

    And I doubt 3 is minimum unit size for pistoliers. I bet you were thinking unit strength 5+ so they can give flank support.

    And lastly, the handgunners have minimum size already.

    You thought this was a warband, didn't you?

    You can't lower the amount of handgunners anymore than 10.
    You need at least 5 pistoliers to make a unit, therefore you can't use 3 only. However pistoliers would make a decent unit.

    Try to make the units 25... get rid of the huntsmen, because they aren't needed at such a small game. Try not to use halberders... they tend not to surivive that long compared to swordsmen. And the detachments should be 8, but that can be some trouble because of your tight point budget.

    The Captain look good, even if the Armour of Meteoric Iron might be a bit expensive for him. He should lead the Swordsmen as he is.

    The Huntsmen are a waste of points. Don't any of them, you're better out with another unit of 10 handgunners. Strenght 3 bows never really did anything, especially in the hands of crappy shooters like humans. The Handgunner unit look good.

    Those 2 infantry units are rather weak like they are now, if you can make a unit of 20 Swordsmen with a detachment of 10 Free Company it would be a lot better. Then I would had a small unit of knights to help them out.

    Here's what I would take:
    - Captain; AoMI, GW
    - 20 Swordsmen; 10 FC
    - 10 Handgunners
    - 5 Knightly Orders

    This Captain is Perfect. :yes: The Handgunners are a good choice. But with your spare points (see below), add a Musician incase they flee. It's 5 points well spent.

    But you should try this:

    Step One: Drop the Huntsmen altogether and get a Cannon. It'll take out anything big 'n' nasty you'll encounter in 500 points games.
    Step Two: Drop either the Halberdiers or the Swordsmen. Parent Units of 10 are useless in whatever size points a game it is. Use the points to make 20 of the unit you want more. I, personally, would use the Swordsmen. Add the two detachments of 5 together and that'll help.

    Now you have 31 points to spare. Either add another small detachment, or add more to your Swordsmen/Halberders.

    okay thanks for all the help everyone but i think i'm going to go with Thyr's Suggestion.

    The main reason i had the huntsmen was to slow the enemy's march:ninja: but i guess thats not really needed in 500 points
