now for some reason it wont post in the army lists section so if someone could move it that wold be great.
this army is themed around Helmgarts steel guard and as such doesn't include any type of FC, EC or GS it is generally quite succesful but could use some useful advice about changing anything for a upcoming campaign
Captain, Barded Warhorse, FPA, Shield, Lance (general)
Wizard (fire) 2 dispel scrolls, lvl 2
Wizard (heavens) Wizards staff, Ring of volans, warhorse, lvl 2
14 Halbierdiers With full command (with fire wizard)
18 Spearmen With full command
5 Swordsman detachment A
5 Swordsman detachment B
14 inner circle knights with full command (with captain)
Helblaster volley gun
advice would be graet

The Captain: You will be placing him with the knights? Avoid this if you can, switch out his lance for a sword of might and keep him with the spears in the centre of your lines. You will need the leadership boost. Also consider an Icon of Mangus your unit sizes are small and are easily auto broken by fear causers.
Fire Wizard: IMO opinion this guy should have the wizards staff, he has a greater choice of offencive spells and may need the extra dice for conflag etc. But if you need a scrool caddy purhaps a light wizard instead at lvl 1? Burning Gaze is better than Fireball by a long way.
Heavens wizard: First off the ring of Volans is not worth a cent. If you want to use a good bound item use the doom fire ring, 5 points cheaper and you can use it mulitple times. What happens if you take Volan's Ring and roll a fire ball or portent of far....
Things to consider when going magic heavy, as far as i can tell you are spending some 300 points on magic, 20% of your force. Take a luck stone on your main caster. It could save his life from miscasts. Also remember that magic very rarely makes it's points back always consider it a support element rather than a game buster.
All things considered your force would be competive but a compotent enemy general will rip out the core of your army and ignore the rest with minimal losses to his own troops. But run with it and see what you think. Consider trying a larger contingent of infantry.
Hope that helps
ok thanks for advice so if i dropped:
2 ic knights (52)
warhorse and lance for captain (18 )
for heavens wizard drop the rov and took doomfire ring (5) (i want to stay magic heavy)
should i take:
add another spearmen and the captain, to spearmen unit
add 5 swordsmen to each detachment
another 10 halbierders
sword of sigismund to captain
add 2 more handgunners to squad and turn other handgunners into two detachment of five

i say you add another 11 halberds and 12 spears and cut the knights in half and the hell blaster and add a morter and you've got a rock solide army.
