i have recently started several projects, and im planning on starting a new one. I thinking of making a Crazy empire gun line, heres what i was thinking,
Lots of Hand Gunners
2 hellblaster Volley guns
what do you crazy people think, and would this be effective?
There are some opponents who it most definately wouldn't work against. They include:
Wood Elves when teh players use GG
Fast armies that close quickly
Anyone with heaps of 30" ranged stuff.
Undead and other ItP armies (like Slaanesh Chaos)
To improve that force, include loads of X-Bows, and maybe a Stank or Flaggies to hold them up for a while.
The force would be good at winning games, just not so good at making friends. I would get irritated at that army so much I'd give up playing against you tbh, unless I'm one of teh aforementioned lists, in which case, you'd get tired of playing against me.
Just my thoughts.
I usually see an army like this, since my friend uses it.
It's awesome at winning games, but don't expect to play twice against the same opponent: they just say "ok, no, ok, thanks, look - i'll go for a walk, yes...a nice walk..."
The main problem is misfire and luck, rather than opposing armies;
imo a list like this could perform superbly against any army, even skirmishers (thay are usually few), fast armies (wow the hellblaster at close range), or 30' stuff (so few sources for 30' leaps, and magic can be dispelled, and flyers and monsters are sooo easy to kill with cannonballs), or undead (just focus and blow away the expensive units or the ones that harbor characters, while the others take at least 3 full turns to get into close combat).
So, i suggest to field at least 4x11 handgunners (with hochlands if you want to improve the hero-killing ability) 2 cannons, 1 mortar, 1 cannon/mortar depending on the opponent, 2 hellblasters -for shooting; then a combo of a lvl4 mage, lvl2 mage, and two priests: this way you can dispel everything, and also get amuls and lightnings.
For c/c, two swordsmen (unbreakable by the priest spells) and one core flagellants.
It's better, it's shiny, it's warped...it's Chaos.
