I was looking at some of the bitz in the empire wizard box recently, and i thought it would be really cool if i could build an ice wizard from the bitz. When i get the box, I want to make a wizard of fire and the other of ice to add the whole "yin yang" effect to the armies magic. I figured it would be easy for the most part, painting the beard of the crazy hair guy to make it look like its frozen and painting the stuff of the sword to look like ice. However, it seems that all the cool bits for an ice wizard would be necessary for a fire wizard, and the box unfortunately only contains one copy of each bit.
Other than buying two boxes?
It could just be me (I have a nasty cold today and my brain has slowed to a crawl) but I didn't think the empire had ice wizards. I know Kislev do, is that what you're getting at?
No real ideas from me, sorry.
Couldn’t you use the burning staff and skull for the fire wizard and then you would be free to use the sword for your ice? As for the head, i think the heavens wizard one is quite generic and would work for either.
In the fluff I don’t think the empire do have ice wizards but you could explain that he is a ally from Kislev?
Cool idea btw.
Everyone makes mistakes. mine was to leave her head in the fridge.
most friends would let you use the ice magic in a friendly game.
My solution would be to email me your address and I could just mail my crazy hair guy's head to you in exchange for some extra arms. I'll never use the crazy head guy without giveing him a serious haircut and hat. So you might as well have him. I do need a set of arms as I got an extra body but have used all of my arms that fit him.
Just to let you know guys, this is purely for aesthetic purposes. the guys at my store are cool with unpainted models in campaign play, and they hate WYSIWYG on top of that.
Yeah, i just realized that there was a flaming skull bit on the sprue. that pretty much solves the problem, though i don't know what staff to use for the ice.
Maybe you could use the Metal Wizard's big flaming comet staff top? I imagine painting the body of the comet a snowy-white colour, and the crystal in the middle a pale blue might look the part.
