This is an idea I've been toying with, this templar army would be twined with an VC one. This would be part of the fluff to show some of the holy order is tained and the rest must regain their honour by delivering the judgement of sigmar upon their former breathren (this can be found in the VC forum under "Knights Templars"). And here it goes:
I just want thoughts and opinions, but this won't happen until I get my HEs all painted first (so could be a while). Also I was thinking of doing this with an VC army and kinda linking them, so the Living KT (Empire) are trying to regain their honour by destroying the tain on their honour led by the Undead KT (VC).
So it would be lots of mounted troops (knightly orders) and some elite foot knights (great swords) with lots of men at arms (swordmen, with a few detactments of halberdiers and spearmen), and maybe a few units of handgunners. But very few as the point is to show how the order distains from black power weapons so maybe one war machine and one BP unit per 1000pts.
The leaders will be mounted so definatly a Grandmaster of the order, captains to show the knightly generals and great heros of the order. Quite often a few mages spotted about, they won't have many but alittle magic support might come in handy. But quite a few warrior priests, this will be because the KT were a very religious order. So being as it's now a holy order of sigmar, lots of WPs will fit nicely.
The colour scheme would need to be the KT which is White cloth, with a red cross (but I may change the crosses colour to show higher ranked knights etc), the knights armour will be white with a red cross and the same on unit shields (well cross depends upon which kind of unit.)
The main units I think would fit are:
I think keeping main missile and all black powered weapons out will fit the theme, as the real life templars disliked missile weapons. So the archers could fit but crossbows, handguns etc wouldn't neither would any war machines.
- Grand Master
But it's been suggested that to link them with my VCs Templars it should be a baron that did the dirty deed and burnt the templars, so I was thinking of having two armies. One would be the knightly order trying to regain it's name and honour by destroying the VC version, and the other being the baron (Elector count) and his army. The VCs want revenge on this baron so they will be going for him, and his army will have lots of newer weapons ie black powder, war machines and probably a small detactment of the living part of the knightly order.
Oh and the colour I might change my mind over, I have been painting an HE army so I'm a bit sick of white. So any colour that is light and would look quite good with maybe a red cross, but also would look good all aged, burnt and muddied on the VC army.
Also the knights would probably look better with a cloth covered steed, so I would probably be using the Bret steeds.
Well these are just a few thoughts of mine, I'd like you feedback. And like I said I'd have to wait until my HEs are painted, and even then I don't know how much this would work. I've never really converted anything except a shield swap or so, and this would be quite fun to do.

That sounds pretty good for a army. Especially if you are going to go into a tournament. Ive only played in 2 but I remember in 1 he won because he had a better paint job and he had a story behind his army and made them have there own restrictions and that will make u have extra points if you ever want to go into tournies (also its a lot cooler to have a army modeled after something and not jsut random units). Besides that i really dont know that much about templars so i realy can't offer any more advise.and Sry for any spelling/grammar errors i had to type this real fast b4 i went to the store.
Thanks but this is a really old thread, and counts as necromancy. Try to avoid picking them up again unless you have a new angle or idea for the subject.
