Cult of Ulric
Army of Middenland
Just using Empire Army Book, but making fluffy unit choices.
I've decided to rejoin WHFB, and break out my Ulricans once more.
But.. I don't know whether to go the whole hog and do Cult of Ulric again (Rules pdf here)
Or have a half-way Army of Middlenland (Rules pdf here)
Or just do a flavoured Empire army, led by Boris Todbringer.
Now, my fellow LOians.. help?

Of the three sets of rules i'd recommend your first choice, the ALL-OUT Cult of Ulric List.
A saying i rather like reflects this: "Go hard or go home". So i say go CoU List.
The other two choices leave you and your army rather limited in choices and dont fully bring out the best of your army, possibly leaving you rather disappointed and let down.
Hope this helps.

It depends; will this be a fun-game-only army, or are you looking to be able to bring it to a tourney? If the former, then Cult of Ulric, hands down. If the latter, then I'd make do with a fluffy-as-possible book list. Either way, I wouldn't use the Middenheimer list. Optimally, you could make a Cult list that can be switched over to a book list as needed (I haven't read the lists in depth enough to know if this is viable). Good luck; I love fluff lists.
Thunder rolled across the sky; and it rolled a six.
I might be wrong, but the Cult of Ulric list from the Storm of Chaos book is now illegal in tournaments, along with all the other lists in said book. Something about them being too cheesy for tournaments.
At a club in quebec one of the players has a really awesome Ulric-themed army based on the normal rulebook. He uses Teutogen guard models instead of greatswords, his war altar is pulled by wolves, and his swordsmen/free company units are all converted from mordheim and middenheim models, beards and cloaks everywhere. you can still get a cool themed army with the normal rules, and not have to worry about whether or not its legal
