I gotta say, looking at Kurt on paper, he looks fantastic. 4 attacks, ws 7 with a runefang and laurels combo. Plus he makes his unit of knights stubborn and immune to psycology. Combined with a unit of inner circle and a warrior priest to provide hatred, you could get wrecking machine unequaled by the other races. Plus it would have staying power even when flanked, due to stubborn. Expensive, yes, but if there is one good thing about empire, its that we can get most of our stuff for cheap. hmm... I'm gonna have to try this.

I would still get another knight unit to go along side that uber unit though, a single unit charging up ahead is arty fodder, i also think that's the main weakness of this unit, enemy shooting.
Still, when combined with another knight unit to draw some fire it would be damned eefective in CC i think, especially if the priest gets off a Soulfire against enemy undead, forest spirits etc. Unbending righteousness isn't that great, what with Kurt making 'em immune to psych already.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

I ran a unit of him, 8 KotIC with a FC and Steel Standard. I shoved them on the flank (coincidentally opposite a large unit of Chaos Warriors, and close to where two units of DoW XBowmen were camping). The Standard enabled them the charge, and Kurt himself won the combat on his own, the Knights doing enough wounds to break the misguided humans.
Mind you, that was a while back, and I haven't run him since. If you want to run him, go ahead. He was a bit too point-and-click for my tastes, though maybe that's just the special character thing setting in. But yeah, your call.
I spot a flaw in your plan.
If Kurt makes the knights immune to psychology, then how do they get hatred from the WP? (That's psychology if anything is...)
I'm not sure about the rule, but I think that's how it works.. anyone?
Alternatively, you can choose another order of knights to accompany him. Losing the immune to psychology, but you can get hatred from you priest that way. Not sure it's worth it though...
in 5th edition, Kurt Helborg was pretty bad ass, and sounds like they upped the ante in this 7th edition. Makes me want to use them more, as I do have a Empire Army somewhere in the attic.
No question about it, my Skaven army would have a challenge on their hand vs the above mentioned unit.
ASSASSINS ASSASSINS ASSASSINS, that would be one of my best bets to take out Helborg, to have a LOT of Assassins in my units ,as well as the mighty Grey Seer Thanquoal and his screaming bell.
