Okay this might be a silly question, but is it possible to buy a captain and use his BS 5 to measure to-hit modifiers with a helblaster volley gun?
Because as i see it, the volley gun only has one disadvantage, and that is, that it based on the BS 3 crewmen, but if its possible to add a captain it'll suddently turn into an awesome threat.
Since he doesn't have the "extra crewman" rule, I'd say no. I do wish that could work though
ah yes. just found it in the rules: "only crew can operate a machine, a character cannot (unless specified in their special rules)" (p.85) Unfortunatly it cant be done. blast it ! ^^

What a monstrous suggestion! That would strip the tiny bit of usefulness that engineers have left! They'd go from "nice if they were upgrade characters, but certainly not worth the hero slot" to "worse than tomb kings heavy cavalry!"
