    Captain on Pegasus

    Hi guys!

I've read some thing about Captains on Pegasus. Some people said its wonderful etc.
I palyed WOC before and im planing to join the forces of Sigmar since my local store is full of WOC armys.

So the thing is, I have no idead what sould i use a captain on his own... He is slaughtered by WOC heroes easily and his CC abilities are not enyough to kill any kind of opponent on his own except like 10 night goblins. Or am I wrong? Please let me know what to use a pega captain for.

Im really looking forward to play my first battle

    Thanks for help guys.

    ps.:
sorry for crap English its my third language.

First thing you should know about Empire heroes is that they are really terrible next to other heroes. Just really bad, all the time, no exceptions. Even Orc and Goblins have better heroes than we do. Which means we need to be creative, an fortunately we have a way to do so. It's called Van Horstman's Speculum, for a 30 point magic item you get to 'swap' your Weapon Skill, Strength, Attacks, Initiative, and Toughness with your enemy during a challenge. Although the Warrior Priest is ideal for this, the Captain makes good use of the VHS. It's really funny to see your opponent challenge you with Gorbad Ironclaw (or any other huge opponent, I just know of this one from personal experience) and then have him killed by your lowly 140 point WP. Then in subsequent games watch him avoid -all- of your heroes for fear that they are carrying the VHS.
As for other uses for the pegasus captain, use him to march block or attack opponent's war machines. Or use him to challenge Skaven heroes, that's always funny. Essentially, he is a six attack model that is best used to flank an enemy, march block, or cause panic in a horde army early in the game.
As for English being your third language, what are your first two?

What's funnier than surprising Gorbad with VHS? Chasing him around the board with a lowly pegasus captain that he has to assume has VHS...

One word of caution, if your opponent has encountered Van Hosrtmans Speculum before he will see the little Captain running at him and simply through some knights or marauders your way. However, you use it enough you can use this to bluff him, as Marnepup said. Having a captain on horseback chasing your cowardly enemy's Lord around the battlefield.

Is that even legal? The fact that you can only use the speculum in a challenge would suggest that you can only swop with the rider, since you can challenge a character on foot, but not a riderless dragon. I'd love to get a dragon's stats via the speculum, but unless it's been FAQed as legal, I'd have to insist that it isn't.

No it is not legal. Read the FaQ & Errata (Warhammer Frequently Asked Questions: Page 2 | Games Workshop)

When taking a Captain on a Pegasus i usually give him Sword of Sigismund. That way he can take out most light troops (and is especially good at taking out Warmachines/Mages).
