Is there a point to flagellants?
What point level?
How big a unit?
Better in pairs?
Suggestions on deployment or use?
Are they even useful at all?
Wash: This landing is gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: [deadpan] Oh God, oh God, we're all going to die?
Well.. There are some that belive that they are worth it, starting from a 2400 point game. You'll need to max out, thats 30 flagellants, and bring them into the fight in horde formation, and preferably buff them up with either some magic (Speed of Light from the Lore of Light is excellent here). They're Unbreakable, so they're bound to hold up a unit for atleast a few turns, and they will actually pack a punch - well atleast the first round of combat. That being said I personally dont like to use them, as they are insanely squichy and will be blown away by any elite unit with enough attacks.
They are quite good at dealing with/to Monsters. I have killed numerous Giants and Hydras with them.
The careful application of terror is a form of communication in itself - Zutta Law #4.
I find that they are great at dealing damage but eventually will all die, espically is you are using maryters. I did use them before where they just tore through 2 units and then there was not really enough for an effective third round of combat, but they did make their points up and more.
