Rep Power: 54 ![]() ![]() | Well, most people have no idea on how to use these magically gifted fellas so I thought It would be a great idea to start a discussion about them. How many do you use in a standard 2000pts list? What order(s) are they from? Where do you place them? What items do give them? What tactics do you use for them?

Rep Power: 47 ![]() | Although i just started to collect Empire, I think I would like the LIGHT wizard, planning to use gandalf . After reading dragonlance chronicles a year ago or so, I got extremely influenced by Raistlin and I think the shadow or dark wizards would be nice (NOT necros i hate how they look).IN 2000 pts, it actually depends what I want to play. I usually take 2 but if I feel devoted to sigmar, I take the warrior priest instead and scrap the wizard. Sometimes, I like the engineer, so I scrap him as well. BUt i always take an elector count in 2000 pts and pratically always a captain for extensive combat usages. but i jsut started empire, so experts, pros, correct me plz ^_^ |

Rep Power: 47 ![]() | i) i will ussualy have two wizards, though i'll trade one in for a WP priest if i'm up aggainst something that the WP was made to counter. ii) one on foot is from heaven, the other is metal iii+v) one dashes around behind my lines with a detachment of archers, they're a detachment so i can have a small squad, and if the wiz leaves they don't cause any panic tests from breaking. i keep them near my artillery as a gaurd. if something nasty comes a hunting i can send the wiz off in a random direction so the hunters can only get a piece of arterlly or the wiz, not both. he uses the lore of heaven for the re-rolls and the occational blast of heavenly missles. the other is mounted and goes with the pistoliers. this has little tactical benifits, i just do it because i wanted to use the model, its amusing, and goes with my fluff. he uses metal. iv) the on foot uses either two scrolls or a rod of power. the mounted ussualy has the shooty ring, forget it's name and a scroll. sometimes i'll swap for an orb of thunder if i know i'll be up aggainst a lot of fliers

Rep Power: 46 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well I use about 2 in my army, the lore my first wizard is from is light my second is metal. The wizard of light does wonders against Chaos army cause of there high WS. I usually put them behind my lines so that they don't get shot at or anything. I load my wizards up with dispel scrolls! I never but these guys in battle cause they really aren't that good at fighting.

tell me about shadow/dark wizards, i have no experience with them and if you have anything good about them non-fluff wise that would be great. just like to argue the use of the engineer as a marksmen with a hochland and a 2nd cannon can pretty much outdo him. no corrections, there's not much fancy about Empire wizards. <!--QuoteBegin-FragerZ@Mar 5 2005, 10:38 ... anyways... i think lord of metal ranges should be increased because if there not, there pointless, you'll never get 12" to a archer unit, because if you do you may as well charge. ...
why would you use that spell on archers? it would be so much more efficient against something like HE spearmen, OK iron guts, or Bret knights. it has to have a low range, do you realize how over powered it would be to just sit back and remove all powerful enemy units weapons? it wouldn't hurt Empire to much, but to the armies that rely on their super units it would be crippling. to Empire it would be like a spell that does a S4 hit to every member of a unit on a 3+ with no AS.

Rep Power: 48 ![]() | ah, the magicky stuff. i know this one empire player, uses wizards solely. lotsa fire wizards. i guess he likes to burn things...it does some pretty nasty damage in a few games. i dunno what he usually fields and what equipment they are usually given at 2000points, but he always has the Ace in the Hole wizards, the one with Van Horstmann's speculum. it catches people out more than you might think (har har mr. Lord of doom...bleuch). the best thing about the army is that it runs away alot, but it is fun to play, he says.

Rep Power: 47 ![]() | do maxing out a type of wizard work that well? example, 3 heaven wizards so you can cash in around a half dozen re-rolls per turn. in other armies i see maxing out as going with the theme. but the Empires "master of none" seems to come into play and maxing out a lore a weaker concept as opposed to elsewhere.

Rep Power: 47 ![]() | but why? in magic, how does versatility hold power of force? what makes fire the 2nd magic of choice? or is it another lore of any type, it's just your personal opinion, such as for me i could replace the second heavens with metal?
