umm havnt rele seen it 2 much n i was wonderin wat pple had 2 say about it n how it does in battle
Steam tanks goes in and out of combat, and gives you one d3 dice impact hits per 3 inches you charge(I think). The cannon tends to be deadly while in close combat or not, but sometimes people tend not to take the cannon and go and use the tank for pure close combat. When I play take a helblaster, it isn't competley reliable as the cannon but gets alot of shots in. The great cannon and morter have shorter shooting distances. You will notice at the start of each phase you must roll for "steam points" these can be spent on movement, missile fire, and closecombat hits. It is pretty hard to damage the steam tank due to "Hardness, and softness" rule, because weapons and missile weapons must have a high strength and impact its to due some damage.
You may notice that your friend you are playing against may not like you for using a steam tank. Steam tanks have may give your friend yours facing psychological, because its "cheesyness on the field.
Now that is the worst grammar I've ever seen.Originally Posted by Marijuan1290

Yes they are still available to buy at the online store at GW and maybe your local gaming store. You may want to save up for them, but some gamers argue about their point cost being very low. So in result you may want to take advantage of the steam tank! As "Engineer says" "All your effort to defeat my Steam Tank shall be in vain. Ha, ha, ha!!!"
Steam tanks are way under pointed. I had played against one for the first time today and I play beastmen. My shaggoth got dropped by a great cannon in a turn of fire. And it took 4 units 2 rounds of combat to take out a steam tank and that was because I had very lucky hits. Also, my shaggoth cost 6 more points than the steam tank. i was appalled. I won the game. But it was by shear luck. I had one attack left to get rid of the last hull pointy thingy and I did it. Other wise the next round I was getting charged in the rear on one of my units and in the flank of another. There are only about 5 things I don't like about the game. 1) Lore of Heavens 2) Lord Kroak(especially with lore of heavens) 3) Archaon 4) people who regularly use special characters 5) The steam tank. Not a fan at all.
:closedeye ithink that is just an exuse for being almost killed or kiled by one of those things on your list i think characters are half the game i think u just cant handle it
Stanks are great - but i wouldnt use them in games of say..... under 2500 points. For an empire army - you dont want to rely too much on one thing.
It's a fact. Take the Conqueror Steam Tank, take the Zombie Dragon. Which one would you take? That's right, the Stank (which takes only a Rare choice, as opposed to a Hero, and the Dragon has lousy rider options anyway - VampLord takes too many slots, Master Necro shouldn't be in melee)Originally Posted by sirgrim
In short: Steam Tanks are utter cheese against armies without Cannons or Stonr Throwers. That's it.
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
 oh boo hoo hoo is it that u just dont have those things in your army or is it u just dont have the intellect to comprehend the powerful beast
Some people in general don't like the steam tank. I know if I were to take it on I woundn't like it so much . Some less experience players may get a psycological effect from it, because it is intimidating. But many experienced players don't let the stank get the better of them.
Many gamers use alot of units, and turns trying to destroy the stank. I only use it when I have a bad day (Or GOOD Day ) As "enginner says" ""Yessss...my Hull Points. You'll never get my precious Hull Points! Never!"
