    I usually pick an Elector count as a lord. Cheap, and good leadership for the troop.

    Yup, Elector Count, provides leadership for the infantry and u get a 50pt magic banner for your state troops= Griffin Banner.

    The Arch Lector looks like a rather tempting choice too, have a friend who uses one with the Silver Horn and Dawn Armour to great effect in conjunction with a battle wizard.

    Arch-Lectors, were the rules for him in WD? I've never actually got to use one, I think I remember something about them being good against VC and Undead armies.

    yeah, they're just lord-level warrior priests basically

    Yep, with a couple of new rules. They are pretty good vs. Undead and Vampire Counts. I'll need to fish out the rules for them soon...
