I just got back into my Empire Force recently, and i was tryin to pick a hero to lead my 1000point army. Which hero would you guy recommend if my army is mostly standing and shoot, with one unit of 12 knights roaming around picking things out. Also, which Hero would you guys say is the best hero over all for empire.
Basically, a Captain will just do fine. He has the needed LD a General should have, and decent WS ans BS, so for your Plans of stand and shoot you can equip him with an Empire Handgun and he hits well (or take the Dragon Bow for a bit more power and the option of move and fire)
But, if your opponents will be mainly Chaos, Undead or Skaven, a Sigmar Priest would also be a viable choice: Same LD, and with his hatred extending to the unit he joins he is especially effective against those foes.
Battle Wizard and Master Engineer have too low of a LD to be really viable choices. (The Hochland Long Rifle is a nice idea, but sniping is quite a gamble )
On a second thought, Since Empire Units are rather Cheap, you can always take Two Heroes in a 1000 pts army (and with war machines the engineer is useful)
imho the engineer sucks, you could give unit champs of hand gunners a long rifle at the same bs. he is useful for warmachines but for his price you can nearly buy another mortar. so much better.
i would just go with a captain, and probably the dragon bow.
if you have enough points another captain, or better a warrior priest, with the knights cant be a bad idea.
You may already know me, you may have met my followers, i am Allah.
Im actually thinkin of doin the Middenland list, so basically, im lookin at the Priest of Ulric, the Seneschal, a Captain, or a Battle Wizard.
i originally started tray pushing using empire (still have my empire stuff) but in 1000pt i always took a captain or warrior priest (sometimes both) and a battle wizard to throw in the occasional spell.
they were all fielded on foot, the captain with a unit of 19 swordsmen and the warrior priest with a unit of 19 militia, and the wizard in between them as they crossed the battlefield to get the protection.
if you have regular opponents that are undead or chaos :shifty: the warrior priest is probably your beat choice but you need to back him up otherwise there goes your general - go soulfire :w00t:
"Now that question is less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid manner..."
- Chaos Undivided: way too many points for my small budget
- Empire: reliving my first army
- Lizardmen: too many skinks dammit
- Space Marines: who doesn't like a man in armour? lol
