    warhammer equivalent of switzerland

for my upcoming marienburg army i want to include some swiss pike/spear/halbedier troops.

Is there a region in warhammer which is switzerland?

(like tilea = italy, nippon = japan, araby = the middle east)

Tilea is probebly the closest you'll get as pikes are the main weapon of choice there. Adding pikes to an army isn't too hard but it will take up a rare slot for dogs of war, other than that i can't help much.

i'm looking for more a fluff point of view... not as much actual units but more to add a little flavour to some of my units.

i was looking at this map:

and kruetzhofen and such might be swiss inspired... anyone have any thoughts about swiss warhammer?

That's exactly what i'm trying to do!

But no one knows what switzerland might be? so there's no fluff on this?

Right, i'm hereby declaring that kruetzhofen is Swiss!

Kruetzhofen halbediers here i come! (i'm gonna paint them up with swiss-guard colours, like the swiss guard of the vatican)

Just some ideas. Not exactly what you want, but amusing nonetheless.

You could have some fun with warmachine crews, and especially musicians and model them with alp horns.

    Use cows for cavalry mounts?
That would be just plain awesome, over the top i know... but...
    Cows of doom.

A war machine crew member sitting on a round of cheese.

    Snow theme.

Hunting dogs, some how convert them to either saint bernards (win!) or german shepards. I assume one could find some small models of these dogs at other stores.

LOL. Something funny, i'm sure if you wanted you could put a war machine on skis.

I might do this once i start an empire army, seeing as i'm swiss. Thankyou for giving my brain a jolt and getting some ideas out

hahahahaha, all those ideas are a bit on the monthy python side of things, still made me laugh!

i like the ideas of a canon on skids, not to make it swiss, but because cannons in the middel ages where sometimes mounted on skids and not wheels, wheels break more easily or warp under the weight of a heavy load.

PS i didn't know perth lay in switzerland! I assume you mean you're born in swistzerland, moved to australia?
