I was wondering if anyone has tried a purly ranged army, and how has it worked for you
Tried it... and it was a one-trick-pony.
Had multiple units of Handgunners, several cannons and volleyguns. As for characters: all Wizard Gunslingers...
It was played for laughs at the local club. Most armies were descimated, but if one or two units made it across the table, the mighty Empire was in trouble. It all depend on the opponent. If he has so many (or large) units, that enemy fire isn't a problem, you will get wooped. Furthermore, terrain is your enemy number one. Anything he can hide behind works against you.
