| Exalted At the dawn of the First Age, the gods gave power to men that they might slay the gods' Primordial enemies. Anointed by the gods, these beings were thereafter known as the Exalted. |

Rep Power: 85 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Only problem is that I don’t know anyone who plays and like most White Wolf stuff it’s looking a bit complicated to GM on my first game. If anyone knows of any online games of Exalted it’d be nice to familiarise myself with it first. |

I haven't got the second edition rulebook, but I've been considering Exalted too. I've played Vampire the Masquerade (and Kindred of the East) for a few years now, so it's quite a logical transition since neither are made any more (and I hate the revamps - pun intended.) The white wolf stuff is actually very simple once you've had a good sit down and read through the rules and, as I understand it, the 2nd ed exalted rules are about as streamlined as white wolf get. I've found Exalted: The Fair Folk to be considerably more complex than the other expansions, however, so that might be one to avoid (though it looks abseloutely glorious if you can learn the rules.) I'm also told, although I don't have it, that the Sidereal book is quite complicated too. The most complex thing ruleswise are the supernatural powers ('Charms' in exalted) which are always quite specific. If there's one thing I've learned from Vampire, it's that it's worth making crib notes detailing the effects of the powers each of your players has taken so you can remind yourself at a glance what they can and can't do. If you're running a standard solar game.. you could try running your first few game sessions with the players as normal humans, then have them 'exalt' half way through so you can concentrate on learning the core rules before bringing in strange supernatural stuff. As for players, you could try and convert others. The great thing about exalted is that it's likely to have an appeal with many types of roleplayers. Those who are familiar with white wolf have the obvious draw of already knowing many of the rules, but unlike Vampire it's probably bold, morally unambiguous and fantastic enough to appeal to D&D players too. Can't help you with the online thing, unfortunately, though a websearch might turn something up. I'm sure there's an exalted based MUSH or MUD somewhere if you're prepared to get the client software and learn the disturbing controls (I've gone off mushing big time myself.) I've played a fair few games of Exalted, I have a friend who owns many of the books. It's a pretty cool system, it's certainly enjoyable to play, but it might take a while to read all of the fluff to get an idea of the world. If you have any questions about the system etc. feel free to ask, but it's been a little while since I've played, so I apologise If I don't know something. |

Glad to hear that exalted has caught your interest . I'm currently STing a game here in real life, and am ashamed to admit I own all of the books . Anyway, if you have any questions or need ideas etc I'd be more than happy to help you.

That'd be great thank you, I'm running my first game on this very forum of all places mostly since my roomate is messing me around and also because our current GM is running Call of Cthulhu. My time will come though... Still at least one person has got the core rulebook because of that. "Alana you can't be a freakin' Deathlord" |

I can see it being eminently useful for a deathlord ot be able to seem to be in two places at once. That is a great Idea mantis, I am so stealing it!

Hurrah, more Exalted players! I love the game myself, both the setting and the ball-achingly awesome stuff you can pull off. I'm currently prepping an Epic Game with my mate, in which we're planning on using every single bit of fluff in the books. No matter where you go, there will be something there to do ![]() I think my favourite games I've played so far are one where my DB character killed a baby behemoth in one hit (with a charm we quickly realised was overpowered!) and me messing with my players by trapping them for 15 years, only for them to escape and find their solar allies thought the realm had kidnapped them and so started a creation-spanning war in their names
