I need some help from the better chaos generals than myself at beating my friend. He plays orks, and I've never been able to beat him with my chaos marines. I haven't been playing them for that long, and my first army was nids, so I'm not quite used to using vehicles yet. My basic strategy with my nid army was to get in a big blob and move forward looking to assault or just shoot depending on what my list looked like that day.

Anyway, I'll give a quick breakdown of the lists we used. It won't be super exact, since the game happened a week ago now, but you should at least get the idea. We were playing an 1850 game. Fist his army:

HQ:
Warboss with heavy army and powerklaw (probably other upgrades that i can't remember, but he was pretty basic)
Big Mek with forcefield

Elite:
15ish Lootas
10 Tankbustas
Snikrot and a bunch of kommandos
3 nobs wtih no upgrades and a BW (I think these guys were a troop choice)

Troop:
2 groups of 10 sluggas in a trukk with a nob (one of those trukks actually had 9 sluggas and had the the warboss)
20 shootas with nob (they rode in the 3 nobs' BW)
20 sluggas (in other BW)

HS:
3 Killa Kans with big shootas
3 Killa Kans with grotzookas
BW

Then comes my List:
HQ: Demon Prince (Wings, Warptime)

Elite: 4 x Terminators (3 x combi-plasma, heavy flamer, powerfist)

FA: 5 x Raptors (2 x Melta gun, Icon of Chaos Glory, Champ with Powerfist)

Troops: 10 x CSM (2 x Melta, Icon of Chaos Glory, Champ with Powerfist, Rhino)
10 x CSM (2 x Flamer, Icon of Chaos Glory, Champ with Powerfist, Rhino)
6 x Noise Marines (6 x Sonic Blaster)
8 x Berserkers (Champ with Powerfist, they ride in the Landraider)

HS: Landraider no upgrades
Vindicator (Demonic Possession)
2 x Obliterators

This was actually the first time I ever used Obliterators and the demon prince. The prince was amazing, and the obliterators were so-so.

My problem may lie in the list, although I have to say, I liked playing with this army more than any of my other chaos lists. I think a lot of my problems came during the game.

We basically played the game kind of hovering outside of each other's charge ranges, except for his kans that were plodding forward each turn, until he popped my rhinos and swooped in for the kill. His Lootas ended up doing in my rhinos, and his tankbustas got my Vindicator.

Here's where I think I went wrong. I was largely using my landraider to try and shoot his kans. I think that was mistake number 1. Other than powerklaws, he didn't really have anything that could stop that thing. Basically, that meant my berserkers didn't do anything until turn 4 or 5. I should've used that behemoth to jam the berserkers down his throat as soon as possible, maybe go after those lootas that didn't get touched all game. I think I was worried about those kans catching me, so I was kind of hanging everything back hoping to kill them first. Well those things took a good deal of punishment.

That leads me to mistake number 2. I spent all that time shooting those kans, when in reality I should've been shooting any other vehicle. Then I could've stopped his ability to get his crazy long charges on me. I also found out that the demon prince is quite capable on his own of dealing with a squad of 3 kans. Turn on warptime and watch the parts fly, and since they apparently have a terrible WS, they're not even hitting him most of the time.

Basically, what I think this game came down to was I was not being nearly aggressive enough, and essentially let him dictate everything that happened. I also ran the my noise marines to the objective in my deployment zone right away, but since they were the only visable infantry on my side, this just meant they got shot to hell right way. So next time, I'm either going to keep them in reserve or just make sure they're hiding behind a vehicle until there's a little more mayhem going on. I think my general game plan will be to go full out with my landraider each turn aiming for his guys he has on foot, while keeping everything else nearby. That way, when the berserkers inevitably get charged by something else, I can then pounce on that with the other squads of marines.

*Side note: There was one awesome highlight for me in this lose-fest. My squad of marines with the flamers got charged by snikrot and his kommandos. I made all of my saves from snikrots attacks and won combat against the squad, they failed their LD test, tried to flee, and got run down, so that was definately amusing.

Noise marine viability

Are noise marines viable? I was considering adding them to my force as home objective holders (5 w/ sonic blasters +1 with blastmaster). What are your thoughts on how they work in a non-god-specific army? Are they worth taking? If so, in what role?

Hey all.
Here is my situation....

I have a heap of Space Marines, and quite a few with bp/ccw that i am going to convert into Chaos Space Marines.

I have bought 2x DP, 3x Vindicators, and 2x Rhinos that im going to paint up as Slaanesh, and was going to paint the marines black with pink highlights, and use plenty of greenstuff to make them look chaotic.

Now my question....

How legal would it be to make Slaanesh Plague Marines?

Rather than using the actual Plague Marine models though, i wanted to covert the standard models to come with syringes containing a pink liquid, and perhaps more syringes on the backpack.

To fit the Slaanesh fluff, they would be marines that are so addicted to the drugs that it has affected them so much that their nerves have been weakened by the drugs, and the signal of touch that the nerves send to the brain is weaker.
As a result, they have a greater resistance to pain, however the lack of a sense of touch causes their close combat skills to weaken.
This accounts for the T5, the FnP, the Fearless, and the I3.

The reason i wanted to have everything Slaanesh colours is so that the army looks somewhat consistent, rather than having half Slaanesh and half Nurgle.
The other reason is that actual Plague Marine models painted up as Slaanesh would look extremely unfluffy, and i personally dont like the look of the Plague Marine models anyway.

Do you think i would have any issues in a tournament with these?

What are you opinions? If it changes anything, I have the contents of the renegade strike force + 2 squads of berserkers, 1 of 1k sons, and one plague squad,as well as a daemon prince and 2 oblits.
