Well as the title suggests this is my first step into Space Marines after being in the 40k hobby for 5 years or so. I have held them off for as long as I can but with the recent Space Wolf update and after reading the Ragnar Blackmane books I finally gave in. So this is my first SW I have ever painted and really the first with using the extreme highlighting and other techniques.

Ok know onto the army itself. going with the fluff of the 13th company being in the EoT for 10K years they have had to scrounge some stuff from CSM. So in every model in the army they will have 30-40% of CSM stuff on them. This guy has both arms and chest plate taken from CSM. But to keep all the models together only one piece of enemy armor will still be in the enemies colors. This goes along with how GW painted their 13th company in the EoT Book. The two CSM colors I am using are thousand sons (obviously) and Word bearers. I think the red and blue from the CSM will go good with the red and blue/grey on the spacewolves all ready.

Well here are the actually pics. C&C appreciated! but only if they are highly praising :) just kidding

Hello all!

A friend of mine has been bitten by the 40K bug, and decided on a Black Templars army. I have volunteered to assemble and paint some of this army, as well as teaching him the modeling/painting aspect of out hobby.

I have personally wanted to do a Black Templars army for some time, but other things have gotten in the way and it never happened. This makes me double happy that my friend has chosen this army!

Not much progress has been made so far (I have a newborn at home, so finding hobby time is a bit tough) but I will share all the progress as it unfolds.

First up - Dreadnoughts

These are mild conversions of the AoBR dread and the normal plastic dread. Ordered, but not yet arrived, is a Forgeworld Venerable Dreadnought. Once it arrives I will be able to determine what magnetization scheme I will use to make all the weapons interchangeable, and then start painting. The other arms (Assault cannon, DCCW are assembled ad Templarised, but not pictured)

Plastic Dreadnought

AoBR Dreadnought

This is a small start to a big project, stay tuned!

So today I started to think about what I really want to accomplish with my interest in Warhammer Fantasy and 40k. I love to just watch big collections of models and battlefields with little houses and rivers and stuff and I'm not really that motivated to collect an army for gameplay and give my models the best available equipment for fighting against other armies so all I want with my interest in small figures is to have a big cool collection of awesome looking models. Who knows.. when I have a big collection maybe I can just pick some models and TADAAA here is an army I can play with. But first of all know I just want to make cool looking models and I'm going to make them cool. Really cool. I need some practice in converting and green stuffing aswell so it's perfect!

This will hopefully be a lifetime blog for everything I paint and convert in whatever army. I think that's the easiest way for me because it's impossible for me to stick to just one army at a time.

I have loads of boxes of different kind of models that I want to paint but I decided to start having fun with a box of Chaos Warriors. This doesn't mean I will only go for Warriors of Chaos until I have a huge collection of only Warriors of Chaos. This means I will have fun with these guys until something else catches my eyes.

However...

I saw someone else at another forum painting his Chaos Warriors in a very cool looking Slaanesh look. I will take some of his ideas, twist them a little and make them my own.

I started to assemble my warriors today and they are coming out good so far. Haven't done so much yet. No conversions have been done etc but I have some ideas.

I will take pictures of finished converted models and finished painted models. I'm sorry to say that I don't have the time I want to be able to take the pictures whenever I want to and I hope that will change but I hope that will make you guys really go crazy and check my blog once in a while for pictures. Hehe.

See you until next time!

Here are some of the things that I have tried. I started off with a white color scheme because I like the sleekness of the Tau but found some difficulties. I wanted to base coat in black because the black filled in the lines in the armor and other deep parts for shadows but painting from black to white became very tedious. So I have now started a blue color scheme. Comments are welcome

I did some counting and figured out exactly what I have
