It came up in a game last night that since a monster can move in any direction he wants, and since a monster with compulsory movement moving into base contact with the enemy counts as charging, compulsory movement monsters essentially have 360 degree line of sight for charges. This seems like cheating to me, as it says multipul times in the BRB that in order to charge a unit has to be in LoS of the monster (90 degree arch on the front).

So,

1) For reference, can anyone point me to the page where it says that compulsory moving into the enemy counts as a charge (for my own reference, I've been looking and looking but can't find it) and

2) Is the the above "tactic" technically cheating, like intentionally over-guessing a cannon to hit a unit out of LoS of the crew?

One last question, When you win a combat and destroy an enemy, is the unit allowed to make a free move that would allow them to face a specific direction? In other words, if a unit of spearmen flanked a unit of goblins, and destroyed the entire unit, can that unit of spearmen reform or move, so that they can face an enemy unit? (to avoid getting flanked themselves?)

Hello again,

I have a very specific question regarding a very specific situation.

-you have a forest with a treeman deep in it, hidden from view.
-you have a unit in front of the forest where 2 of the models on the end of the lined up unit are in front of the the hidden treeman.

Hello again,

I have a very specific question regarding a very specific situation.

-you have a forest with a treeman deep in it, hidden from view.
-you have a unit in front of the forest where 2 of the models on the end of the lined up unit are in front of the the hidden treeman.

Obviously a player with a cannon can aim at the unit in front of the forest, but can they deliberately line up the shot to clip the end of the unit and pass into the treeman? In all rules of fairness, he is hidden, they can't see him, how can they know to fire at the end of the unit rather than it's center? In the end I can find nothing about this in the books and it seems to me to just be a case of player integrity.

Thanks in Advance!

A question came up during a game that oddly never came up before with my gaming group.

When casting a spell, let's say a standard magic missle like fireball, the wizard declares the spell he is casting and the target he is casting it at. If he successfully casts the spell but the target is out of range is the spell still cast just as shooting is handled? Or is the range measured to determine if the target is legal to be cast at with the spell to begin with?

I know there are spells that say cast "anywhere within X inches" which allows you to place the 'ground zero' point of the spell, but this differs from what I am asking.

I know Corspe Cart Mounted Necromancers can join units, but can a Hero in a Chariot join a unit of infantry?
