I am making a 750-1000pt force for a doubles tournament and was trying to come up with a fun and exiting character for my force (which will most likely consist of, marauders, Chaos warriors and war hounds) and I came up with the following.

Sorcerer:
lvl2,MoS,spell familiar,enchanted shield,powerstone, 3rd eye, steed of Slaanesh 225pts

Being mounted and having an enchanted shield means he has a 1+ AS vs shooting and a 0+ AS vs melee, which I thought would be adequate protection.

The spell familiar is so he will have a larger selection of Slaanesh spells making him more flexible when it comes to manipulating the opponent.

3rd eye means that if hes fighting ItP armies he can hopefully still get access to some useful magic via their wizards, not to mention it's a great trump card.

The powerstone, is there for several reasons: it means if he gets ecstatic seizures he can still cast it at least once reliably. Its handy if he really need to get a particular movement spell off at a crucial point in the game. And last but not least if he "borrows" a powerful spell from my opponent it means he can cast it.

The Steed gives him the ability to cast spells in 360degrees, incredebly fast movement and more importantly if he gets Aura of Acquiescence he can cause terror.

Thanks to the MoS he is immune to fear, terror and panic, which is always handy.

However he is a bit expensive.

Thoughts?

WYSIWYG Questions

I had 2 quick questions regarding WYSIWYG tournament settings.

The first being in regards to a chaos dragon. If I have access to Baudros, the 2 Headed Chaos Dragon mount of Egrimm Van Horstmann, an OOP GW model can I still run it in place of a regular choas dragon in WYSIWYG environment.
The second question being in regards to Demon Princes, since they don't currently have a model as the plastic one I heard was coming still hasn't happened yet. What is WYSIWYG for a model like this, do I have to make my own? Can I use a different model, something that looks demon prince-like or perhaps even use a model from another wargame in a WYSIWYG environment? If and when the regular demon prince model comes out, will I need to buy that to remain WYSIWYG?

Thanks in advance

So, I'm looking at maybe including a big monster in my list as I grow past the 1000 point mark. Something nasty to mash things up good and fight other big nasties.

By the looks, our two big monsters are the Dragon Ogre Shaggoth and the Chaos Giant. Not really going for a dragon because I don't want to spend the points on the rider. Ditto on the Manticore.

Personally, I like the look of the Dragon ogre Shaggoth much more. TBH, I'll eventually get this model just to paint and stick on my desk, probably. ;) But that's not the matter at hand.

Shaggoth:
Pros:
Great Weapon makes him Strength 8.
Scaly Skin and Light Armor gives him a 4+ Armour save
Immune to Lightning and can gain Frenzy
Cons:
More expensive

Giant:
Pros:
Interesting attack options
Can be marked for mild customization
Stubborn and Leadership 10
Cons:
No save whatsoever

Same:
Tough 5, 6 wounds
ITP, Large Target, Terror

So, I want to hear your experiences, opinions and suggestions. Oh, and why not? Which model do you think looks better? :)

Hello, once again I got roped into a team game at my local store. This time I (WoC) am teamed up with a High Elf and we are verses a Darkelf and Vampire Counts army.

Each player is bringing 2250 pts to the table.

In most games I have witnessed the Vampire Count builds around the death star style with a black coach, Corpse Cart, and Banshees outside of his main force. I have never faced off or seen the Darkelf player so I am not sure what he will do.

My concern is the Ring of Hotek. If they use it I want to figure out a good (reliable and relatively safe) way of avoiding or removing it so that we can stunt the vampire counts magic phase and of course have a magic phase to bust the death star unit should we need to claim those points.

Thanks in advance.
