The minotaurs and chariot go rolling up a flank while the shamans hide together in the back lines. This one is almost a tossup. Either ranks and weight of force win, or sheer brutality on the Beastmen's part wins.

I'm going with Beasts on this. Tough to say, but my gut quakes when I look at that BoC list.

I have to side with David on this one. The Beasts have a lot of brutal stuff in their list that has a very distinct possiblility of ripping through these man-god worshippers.
Tyranids 1850 - 10/0/0 Models sold off, but I still sometimes play with proxies.

High Elves 2000 - 0/1/1 Starting, don't have any models.

The speed of the Beasts will win them this battle. Moving 12" each will see them upmthe board in no time. If i was the empire player i'd target the great cannon straight at the doom bull as he doesn't get "look out sir", and then move onto the Shagoth. Unfortunatly though, there's still the small matter of the rest of the army hitting you. I think the Beast would double team your units with a unit of minatuars and a chariot causing impact hits. This would build up enough CR to win it and break your units.

This one is really close. Controversially though, i think the right deployment could win this for the Empire. With only one cannon it wouldnt be too easy but if they deployed back from their lines then it could get 2 turns of shooting, probably slaying the shaggoth. The knights would be a good counter for the centigors etc.
When the minotaurs di hit the empire lines, after 2 turns of empire shooting, then the detatchmets guns may have weakened them a little, and with countercharging from the detatchments i think the empire could just swing the combat.

Therefore im voting for Empire to win this one.

Hard for me to pick a winner here as I think both lists are excellent. Really depends on the rolls of the war machines but the Beasts need to get off some combined charges to make sure of victory as the Empire have some good static CR.

I am going to cast my vote the way of the Empire!

I agree with Stoney that the Empire static CR could work against the smaller units. The Mortar and Hellblaster have their effectiveness reduced somewhat by the lack of blocks, but the Empire warmachines should not be completely dismissed.

That said, those BoC units are brutal and many, and I just don't think the Empire blocks can stand up to a combined charge from 2 or so of these units. In the end, I think the Empire can put up a valiant fight, but I really see this ending with the bloodied horns of Mad Cow Disease.

It's tough, but due to the hitting power of the cows as well as the sheer number of fast flanking units I'm giving this one to Mad Cow Disease!

hmm... this is an interesting one. a definite example of hard hitters vs spong units. the problem i see is that the empire seem to outdo the beastmen in numbers. however the vast plethora of multi wound critters makes my skin crawl. the empire could pull this off. but they would have to maximise their shooting on the larger more deadly units (shaggoth, chariots then the doombulls unit) and then make sure they can keep the minotaur units head on and keep the centagor units away from the flanks.

sadly i just can't bring myself to choose between either army. both has the potential to wreck the other and it seems to rest on how well the cannon and helstrom preform against the larger targets. the mino's alone won't be able to smash through the empires hedge hogs.

While both lists are very strong, I think that the Empire will be able to win this one through sheer numbers. They have enough bodies to be able to soak up what punishment the Beasts can initially dish out and then beat them through CR in the end.

    The Emperors Chosen win this.
