Map 9 - Dwarven Gates
First Turn = Croms Undefeated Horde
Daemon Prince: Mark of Slaneesh, lvl 4 Mage (Lore of Slaneesh), Blade of Ether (no armor saves), Aura of Slaneesh (-1 to leadership of models in contact), Soul Hunger (Re-roll missed to hit rolls in first round of combat)
Lore of Slaneesh: Spell #'s 1, 2, 3, and 6 (Don't know the spell names)
Exalted Daemon: Mark of Slaneesh, lvl 2 Mage (Lore of Slaneesh), Spell breaker (dispel scroll)
Lore of Slaneesh: Spell #'s 1 and 3
6X Daemonetts on steeds
5X Chosen Chaos Knights of Slaneesh: Full command, War banner (+1 to combat resolution)
Chaos Giant: mutant monstrosity
Total points: 1995
Power Dice: 8
Dispel Dice: 5 (1 Scroll)
This army is designed to move very fast. It does not have much pure hitting or stopping power in any one unit so it relies on combined charges against weakened and vulnerable units. Small units and war machines will be targeted first and eliminated so that I can maneuver to bring maximum units to bear on single large units one at a time. Terror and fear play a large part in this also. With 3 terror causing units and 3 fear causing units in the army, when the target unit is beaten they will be outnumbered and will auto-break, as well as having the terror radii to hopefully panic large sections of opposing armies. Finally my magic will help ensure that the units I select will be where I want them to.

I vote Chaos! Oh wait a second.
Erm, I vote Croms Undefeated Horde!
I think the static blocks and their combat resolution will tie up the big heavies on the other list and win over the long haul. But that Daemon Prince, whew!
I dub Crom the winner in this match. His solidarity will hold up strongly against the daemon-favored slaanesh list. Its trading mobility for hitting power will make them pay against such a solid list like this one.
Tyranids 1850 - 10/0/0 Models sold off, but I still sometimes play with proxies.
High Elves 2000 - 0/1/1 Starting, don't have any models.
He's the underdog, but I vote for Aetherlust to win it. Most of the Slaanesh spells are quite yummy, particularly the Titillating Delusions to misdirect the knights, the only truly fast unit around. Furthermore, if the daemon prince or daemon, (they both have it, it's spell #3,) got close to the Hellcannon, we could see that huge point sink run towards a random spot on the table like a chicken without a head. If nothing else, the D6 S6 missiles will serve Aetherlust nicely.
Now, moving away from magic, we've got furies and mounted daemonettes for nice flank/rear charges, a Chosen unit of Chaos Knights to do what a Chosen unit of Chaos Knights does, and even a giant to really mix it up, (we can only hope Crom doesn't get picked up...)
Aetherlust's most useless unit is probably the foot-slogging daemonettes, which nearly lost my vote for the underdog. I can't see them doing much unless they're approaching an enemy unit already locked in combat, and we're talking about Khorne boyz here, not your run of the mill undivided shmucks.
Every whisper of the future from the Warp speaks of a hundred battles lost, a thousand lives devoured and a million enemies born. -- Inquisitor Lord Babel
I have to agree with the Babel here. I am voting for Aetherlust
Yes the Croms army has the static combat resolution, but apart from the Hellcannon, it has no answer for the Giant, or the Daemon (Exhalted or Prince). Both of them have the D6 Str 6 magic missile, which can damage the Hell Cannon, and in combat, they can take a flank each.
Yes, Crom is hard, but I can see him getting whooped by the Prince. In the end I am sorry to say, the daemons win the day.
New LOChat functions now avaliable.

Ok, this is another great match up. I'm going to go with Aetherlust because of the punch that the two big chracters bring against the small units of chaos. Having superior magic also means the nasty Slannesh magic gets off most of the time.
okay i didn't post up tactics so... the hellcannon will be going after the daemon prince. As it gets to reroll the scatter it's quite likely to hit and being str 10 doing d6 wounds it can easily destroy the daemon prince in one go. The khorne warriors will be flanked by the marauders and other warriors to prevent it being drawn out due to frenzy and flank charged. The chariots will be getting thrown around by steedof shadows giving them excellent range and allowing thier impact hits to wreak havoc. whilst unseen lurker will let me move my main units and knights into advantageous positions and avoid being hit when i don't want them to be. The warhounds will hang back and get flank charges and counter charge any gaps that appear in the lines.
Also thought i migth need to explain some abilities..
mark of khorne means the units gain frenzy (and an extra dispell dice but that's up there)
mark of chaos undivided lets the unit reroll failed psychology tests
The hellcannon has all sorts of funky rules, mainly what matters is it deals an str 10 d6 wound blast template and can reroll the scatter dice.
crom, can either weild axe and shield any special rules for his opponants weapon are nullified. If he weild sword and axe he gains +1 attack as normal and gains an extra attack for each wound he inflicts

Hrm this is a tough call. The Slaneesh list has some really nice characters, but if the Hellcannon does manage to take down the Daemon Prince...it could be a long day for them. Going to hold off on voting for the moment.
Crom does it for me. Even daemons need to be supported else be sucked into the void. I think Crom has the more solid list and will win it out any war of attrition but he lacks some of the speed Aetherlust has to offer.
I like both lists, but I have to make a call so there it is^_^
I just want to say that I don't have to engage everything to win. He has enough units like the hell cannon, chariots, warhounds and even the knights that I could pick off then bide my time out of range of his blocks untill I either blast them to death with magic missles or force one away from the others and surround it with all my remaining units to destroy it in one turn. but thats even if I do that. I could win based on VPs from the previously mentioned targets and ignore the big units. it's all about choosing what and when to engage.
When life gives you lemons, beat it over the head and take its wallet.
