At my local GW a day is being held for people who can't make it to games day. There is going to be a sort of arena of death style game where we have to pit the strongest characters we can come up with against each other. So does anyone have any ideas on what would make a really hard vampire worthy of the task?
Well if there's no pointas limit and it's jsut bring your hardest character here's some suggestions:
All will be Vampire Lords with magic upgrade:
Cursed Shield of Mousilon
+45 points worth of other stuff
Enemies are going to be at -2 attacks and you'll have a 3+ armour svae with full plate blood dragons get as standard
Sword of Battle/Might
Gem of Blood
Enemy is at -1 to hit so 5's, maybe 6's if you're lucky, and when they finally get a wounding hit it'll be refelected back at them.
6 WS8 attacks at S6, re rolling misses. Nothing magical about it, but still solid hitting power.
Sword of Might
+ 55 points worth of stuff
Allways strike first with 5 S6 attacks and if the enemy also has 'always strike first' then your I10 will almost guarentee you're still striking first anyway. Recommend getting a ward save with last 55 points as Lahmia can't take regular armour.
2000AD's answer to all "How do VC deal with ..." questions: Forbidden Lore + 2 Power Stones.
Further answers will require more vodka.
One the I might suggest (if there's no points limit) is a Necrarch Lord with:
Lvl 3 wizard upgrade
Nehekhara's Noble Blood(now he's a lvl 4 wizard)
Master of the Black Arts
Crown of the Damned
That should come out to 435 pts, and he'd be pretty ridiculous. Lots of zombies could be raised, a 4+ ward save (the stupidity is almost negligable with his high Ld), 5 Str 5 attacks at WS6 and I8, which is nothing to sneeze at, and all spells are at +1 and have their range increased by 6". You could concievably cast a Gaze of Nagash and an Invocation of Nehek every turn and really mess people up, especially with the +1 to casting and the extra 6".
a blood dragon lord with
crown of the damned
2nd hand weapon
he now has 7 ws 10 strenght 5 killing blow attaks and a 4+ ward 4+ armor
or 6 ws10 strength 5 attacks and a 4+ ward and a 2+ armor
Please in future do not post individual points costs of items, as it is a breach of copyright.
Many Thanks, ninja out

The only problem with the aforementioned Vampire, is that as he has a magical shield, he must use that in combat, but he is still a mighty impressive combatant.
New LOChat functions now avaliable.
Need a list designed for any Fantasy army: Click Here
Also you may want to mount him on a nightmare or zombie dragon if you are allowed.
If you want to go offence take a blooddragon lord and here are 2 builds that you can use for complete insane offence but absolutely crap defence. Best defence is a good offence right? for 1v1 character fights id think so.
Blood Dragon Lord
-strength of steel
-2 hand weapons / or a great weapon
this will give you either 7 attacks at ws 10 strength 5/6 on the charge killing blow and you can reroll any misses first round of combat. 3+ to hit 3+ if not 2+ to wound and -3 armour save -2 when not charging
it can also give you 6 attacks at ws 10 strength 7/8 on the charge with killing blow and you can reroll any misses first round of combat. 3+ to hit 2+ to wound anything pretty much with -5 armour save on the charge -4 any other time.
he can pack a punch but if he doesnt do the job the first turn hes kinda in trouble next round, if equiped with a great weapon even more so because he attacks last. 8X:party2:
