Saurus Scar-Veteran - Great Weapon, Shield, Light Armour, Charm of the Jaguar Warrior
Saurus Warriors - 10
Skink Skirmishers - 10
Salamander Hunting Packs - 3 Salamander Hunting Packs
That's 488 points (I think)
Hail of Doom Arrow, Helm of the Hunt, Great Weapon, Light Armor, Shield, Elven Steed
10 Glade Guard
5 Glade Riders
I must say congratulations to Pool F, all of whom submitted their lists.
Not convinced that Great Weapon is teh way to go when mounted... And that Scar Veteran looks nasty - however, the Glade Riders and Dryads will sweep away most of the skirmishers, and that hail of doom arrow should put paid to the salamander hunting packs.
My vote: Wood ELves
This is tough. The Hail of Doom Arrow will do 10 hits on average. If the noble's at short range, he'll hit on 2's, so 8 should hit. Then you have to randomize. Maybe 5/6 on the monsters and 3/2 on the skinks. So probably at least 1 dead skink and maybe enough wounds to kill on sallie. He can focus the glade guard on them, too, but that means something else isn't getting shot at.
For me, those salamanders are the turning point at this point game. They can buzz through the elves.
As much as I hate to say this, I think LM can win this one, especially with that scar vet racing around 9-18 inches.
Close call. After looking at it, I'm going to have to throw my vote to the Wood Elves. The glade riders give the WE the mobility they need to outmaneuver the Lizards. Of course, the dryads need to stay clear of the salamanders or else they game could turn around.
I am heading off to the Peace Corps. It is bery likely I will not be back. Good luck to all of you endeavors.
i have to go WE here. the WE have exceptional shooting and even through the scar vet can run around 9-18 that's if he's alone. and if he's alone he's proboly going to get hail of doomed. or else he's limited to the movement of the sauras unit he's in.
vs the skinks i think the gladerider charging those will be the end of them. i've been charged by glade riders to many times to not be afraid of those.
Painting: 20 quarrelers
LM for me. The scar vet and salamanders will bring a lot of pain to the elves and I think will be to difficult for them to manage.
BEN DIESEL FTW!!!
This is tough, but I'm going with Wood Elves.
They have a simply obscene charge range, and the Sallies can't Stand & Breathe Fire (that's just not the same as Stand & Strangle). Once in combat, especially if a multi-charge was involved, the Salamanders should die soon enough, then it's simply down to outmaneuvring and killing the remaining Saurus and Skinks.
My initial reaction was that the Salamanders were going to win this game for the LM's, but the HoDA is going to be a problem for the hunting packs. In the end, I still think that unless the Elves can get some awesome rolls for the HoDA or the Glade Guard's shots, the Lizardmen will still clench this victory.
No, I don't have any wool.
Lizardman Victory due to the stated reasons!
