Pre game comments:VS.Deployment:
This one is pretty simple. The Grudge Thrower and the 2 bolt throwers will be placed by the ruins, then the remainder of my line will go across in the following order:
Ironbreakers, Longbeards, Warriors, Warriors, Thunderers then finally the organ gun.
This one is quite simple. I will sit and wait the Elves advance. I have more shooting, and less maneuvreability, so standing still will be my best opportunity, to begin with at least. If the opportunity presents itself for a standard charge, without the risk of flanking, I may try it out.
His magic is strong, (I used a simular tactic in a previous votewar), but it isn't infallible, and as I have a solid defence with +3 to dispel, and 7 Dispel Dice to his 8-10 Power dice, with 2 scrolls, I should be able to weather his magical storm much better than he can weather my shooting.
My Flanks are protected by the forest on one side, and the ruins on the other. This tactic, along with the shooting corridors, should give me the advantage of whittling down his numbers before he hits my line.
My shooting will be mostly aimed at his deadlier units. The Thunderers will shoot at the swordmasters when they can, the grudge thrower will be making dents in his phoenix guard and spearmen, and the bolt throwers will pot shot the cavalry when the opportunity presents itself.
The organ gun will take his troops as they approach, or try and take out his eagle noble if the opportunity presents itself.
In the end, my 5+ ward against his shooting, superior numbers and solid shooting and magic defence should carry the day.

Major Victory Dwarfs
Their infantry and shooting are superior, and can really counter any major advantage the HEs may have. I can't see the HEs doing much here.
Ooh - pit of shades against Dwarves - pefect.
However, how does that mage get close enough to the Dwarf lines to use it?
I can see some major issues with Dwarven deployment - those ruins and the forest both provide a very easy place to put the shdwo warriros, who can jump out and muller the Dwarves (or at least try...)
I wuld play refused flank, and charge every unit I have down the narrow corridor around the ruins, and then roll down the line.
In my opionion, if played correctly (and the way I would play against a "sit still" army, I would go for a HE minor victory - those shadow warriors could "ruin" at least one turn of Dwarf shooting, and the cavalry can bomb up the flank to take out the machines themselves

I think the story of this battle is: Too many dwarves, not enough elves. I think the Dwarven resiliency lets them survive the Elf assault and counter it.
I call this one a Dwarven Major Victory.
I'm with Kithre.. I like the Elves for their vastly superior mobility and the fact that the Dwarves don't have any flanking units. High Elves for Major Victory

I'm going major victory to dwarfs.
Shooting will really hurt high elves to start. ASF is good, but against high toughness and high armor, it's much less effective. Dwarfs are good to counter the worst of the HE magic. The ruins and trees provide nice flank protection, so I see that as less of an issue.
I can see both armies struggling to put the hurt on each other here.
The elves just dont seem strong enough to hurt the big dwarf units, but the dwarves are too slow to bring the elves to battle.
I think the magical edge and greater mobility give this as a (very) Minor victory to the High Elves
HEs have the magic and the speed but Dwarves have more solid infantry blocks and a stash of big guns. It will come to fisticuffs eventually and I can't see the HEs winning.
Dwarf minor vic
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
Major victory to the Dawi (Dwarfs for you beardless fellows).Too right. In the end, my 5+ ward against his shooting, superior numbers and solid shooting and magic defence should carry the day.
The HE magic will not make a dent (killing may dwarfs if an IF pit of shades goes off but the unit will hold and another unit will take its place). The HE will run as fast as possible towards the dwarfs, losing at least the Dragon Princes and Swordmasters before being overwhelmed by the dwarfs higher toughness and higher static combat resolution infantry.
Gingerninja's Dwarfs win this match 5 votes to 3.
