Deployment is difficult to decide upon in advance. Basically the idea will be to get into to combat asap where my slight advantage in quantity and quality shoudl tip the balance in my favour. Therefore a lot of the deployment issues would depend on how my opponent deploys. I would envisage it would be fairly standard however, I would also deploy fairly high up the table in order to get to grips with the enemy from the get go, with my war machines etc located on the flanks in order to thin out the enemy regiments, take down the gyrocopter with a bolt thrower and possibly even land a cannon ball on that pesky Anvil, if possible or practicle, and hoping for a good dice roll to negate the ward save.
Just a note on the Anvil, realy it will only be using the Wrath and Ruin rune, and if used without Ancient Power shouldnt bother me too much, as my high toughness, armour saves and large units should protect me from too much damage. If used with AP then there is a chance it will only be used a handful of times in the battle. Oath and Honour would play into my own hands as I WANT to get to grips with them early, and hearth and Hold isn't really useful against my army. So it should prove to be a big 300 point waste of space (fingers crossed)
Once battle is joined my advantage in terms of the amount of missile fire I can lay down, and my superior combat infantry *may* just swing the battle in my way.
Dolvir should win, and here's why... The major advantage that the Oakenshields have is they have that extra big juicy unit of Hammerers. This is a big advantage. They will be cannon fodder, however, that will leavethe other three units in better position while they can take down Dolvir's three big blocks. However, much of this is matched up by better firepower (including anvil) from Dolvir. THe thing that does it for me is the characters. Dolvir's characters should be winning, giving that edge in combat (you can't have more than one rune of stone on a character.)
I am heading off to the Peace Corps. It is bery likely I will not be back. Good luck to all of you endeavors.
Well, it will be slog out this. Kazzad Dolvir has slightly superior troops, but Sven has more. Not sure about svens easy dismissal of the anvil, if dedicated to a single unit it could keep then from the lines for a long time, removing the advantage of the extra infantry block. However, i think the numbers will win the day here. The Kazzad army can easily get surrounded and flanked if the missile troops advance.
Sven Svensons Oakenshield's.

This is a ridiculously tough call to make.
On the one hand, the Oakenshields definitely have an advantage in combat through their extra unit, and extended size of their existing ones. On both counts, the BSBs will make any combat an extensively protracted one. Another decent advantage I can see coming into play is the superior firepower (it will unlikely count for much
However, on the other, it appears that the tents or forest could easily be used as a wall for Dolvir to place their backs against and not worry about numbers with some clever angling, meaning the fourth unit will have to walk around for a few turns before actually seeing combat.
I think the anvil repetitively bombing one unit, and lucky placement of the terrain give the victory to Kazzad Dolvir, but that was a tough call, and I think it would be close.
Superior shooting will win it for them. They can bunker down and with help from the anvil, they can nearly avoid CC. dwarves are too slow to march against their own shooting.
Kazzad , if deploying intelligently, which judging by this awesome list, this player would be doing, he could deny flanks entirely.
Conclusion - I don't see CC happening early enough for Oakshields to win this and they're not getting any flanks.
I think the Dwarves are going to win this one.........
But in all seriousness, Kassad Dovir will take this one, as they can protect themselves better from the enemy shooting due to their 5+ ward save banner, stop the march of the enemy by using the anvil and do some damage with there own shooting before the main battle begins.
They can afford to sit back, where as the other dwarves can't
