Round 3, Match 4
Dwarfchewer vs. Murdoch
Battle for the Pass
Dwarfchewer top, Murdoch bottom
Murdoch has first round
Orc Warboss – armor of silvered steel, bashas axe of stunty bashin
Orc BSB – light armor, enchanted shield, talisman of preservation
Orc Shaman – lev 2, crown of command, shrieking blade
Night Goblin Shaman – lev 2
30 Orc Big uns – shields, choppas, full command
40 night goblins – shields, hand weapons, full command, 3 fanatics
20 Black Orcs – shields, full command, razor banner
2 spear chukkas
2 Doom Divers
6 River Trolls
Snotling Pump Wagon – exploding spores
- first set of impact hits it inflicts in the game ignore armor saves
My troops will deploy as close to the center as possible so that I can minimize the amount of war machine damage I take and engage in combat asap. The black orcs will deploy on the left (6 wide) with the orc shaman who causes fear and is stubborn. My trolls will deploy next to them, closer to the center. Next to them will be the big uns (6 ranks) with lord and bsb. To their right will be the night goblins (8 ranks) with the shaman. They will be near the bane stone, but they are numerous and I rather protect my better troops. War machines will set up in between each unit, to make most use of LOS. They will all target his big uns, where I suspect will be his lord and bsb. My pump wagon will deploy beside the trolls. It can hopefully draw out the fanatics instead of using the trolls to do so and cause some damage to his units.
Since he has two units with 3 fanatics each, my own night goblins will engage one unit, and the river trolls will engage the other (they have highest toughness and 4+ regen to take on those fanatics). Big uns will go after the big uns.
The orc shaman has the hand of gork spell (reposition unit within 3d6) which I will use on the black orcs to flank or rear charge his big uns and the ere we go spell (all units within 2d6 can re roll to hit rolls). Night goblin shaman has the gift of the spider god spell, which will be cast on the night goblins, giving them an advantage over their opponent. The curse of the bad moon will be cast at his big uns, boosted so that the big template is used and they take an initiative test and take a wound with no armor saves.
Finally, all I gotta say is WAAAAGH!!! May the best Dwarfchewer win
Additional Hand Weapon
Talisman of Preservation
Armour of Silvered Steel
Night Goblin Great Shaman
Orc Big Boss
Night Goblin Shaman
39 Orc Big Un's
Additional Hand Weapon
40 Night Goblins
41 Night Goblins
This is going to be a fun match, the green skin tides collide! I think my orcs have him slightly outmanned with will probably help in a one on one situation, with 10 more bodies and 2 st. 5 attacks. Same thing with Night Goblins, I intend to actually use them as an offensive force. using one to collide with his NG (releasing both our fanatics at once, hum, interesting!) in a horde formation, with nets. Black Orcs are small enough that I can probably shoot most of them down before they can hit me.
Ah now deployment makes a little more sense, sorry for the confusion. War machines will be mostly positioned on the hill for better lOS, with a spear chukka on each corner of my deployment. Big'uns and 1 unit of goblins will go on the left of the hill, and the other goblins on the right.
Since I have first turn and this is battle for the pass, I hope I will have 2-3 turns worth of shooting before we clash. Rock Lobbas will target his NG horde (as they are lower toughness and more likely to run) Doom divers will work on destroying his black orcs, with only 20 and no armor saves, I can probably take a very good chunck out of this unit. Spear chucks will target his river trolls and his pump wagon (doing d3 wounds will speed this up). My big'un should be able to take a charge from his big'uns and come out on top. 1 Goblins will take on whatever stragglers reach me with fanatics doing some early damage and nets making them -1 st. The other will go for his night goblins.
I have a lv.4 vs. his lv. 2 so casting and dispelling will get a bonus. Ultimately I would like to cast a beefed up curse of the bad moon using initiative(wreaks havoc against I2), gork'll fix it to make his big'uns re-roll 6's and gift of the spider god to make my NG or Big'uns poisonous.
Voting ends in 72 hours.

Lucky for murdoch he has that hill. It's a thin battleline and his gunline can really use the extra tier.
One mistake on Murdoch's part i think is assuming the biguns will take care of the enemy bigun's and be done with it. His own biguns are prime target to artillery fire and will not make it on their own.
The Blackorcs seem to be dealt with sufficiently, although they are ItP, even a few left can do big damage.
One problem for Dchewer is that his artillery is all in between his troops, who are marching forward fast. There's no way they will be able to lock targets on the biguns, or any target of their own choosing.
But thats just talking talk...
sorry Dwarfchewer, your army rocks, but today, you are outgunned, outmagicced and even outnumbered. You're toast!
Vote: Murdoch wins!
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
I vote for O&G...
Yeah, I had to be that guy...
I think Murdoch takes this with the better shooting... 2 Doom Divahs & 2 Rock Lobbas FTW...
Btw, would be nice to know what spells they rolled
Even though I am seriously not convinced by the tactics, I think the extra shooting and more powerful magic will tip this battle. So have to give it to Murdoch.
I don't think many biguns will be left on either side with the focused artillery and magic, but I think murdoch's extra artillery can just win it.
I actually had to read the first post to see what made everyone vote the name of the player...

Dwarfchewer, you are my hero, I just want you to know that....and not ONLY for chewing dwarfs, though they are crunchy and go well with ketchup. I think we're clear to post in our matches after votes are tallied, were just not supposed to try to sway votes.
