    Spells: Searing Doom, Plague of Rust, Glittering Robe, Final Transmutation.

    Deployment: Artillery and engineers above the scree slope, BSB’s regiment of swordsmen as far east as they can get in horde formation while fitting between the scree slope and the front edge of the deployment zone, angled parallel to the slope so as to stay off of it later, with their detachment to the outside, the Priest’s regiment between the forest and the tower. Walter between the two regiments, mage with BSB.

    Shooting: One mortar targets each squig unit for the first two turns, then seeks the most dangerous target after that. The third mortar targets the largest enemy unit, shifting fire to keep targeting whatever’s biggest. The cannons target trolls on turn one, hoping to kill four of them (unless they’re in a single rank, then only shoot them if they’re flanked), then artillery, then chariots.

    Magic: 3 bonus dispel dice should keep a lid on things in terms of defense. Offensively, the mage will cast final transmutation (not intending miscast) and plague of rust until melee is joined, then glittering robe, boosted if appropriate. In an emergency, cast boosted searing doom on a wolf chariot. The Walter puts net of amyntok on the doom diver until the cannons get around to it, then timewarps a swordsmen regiment when melee commences. Priests mainly just heal characters as needed, but may go for unbreakable if their units are in trouble.

    Walter hunts chariots, then trolls.

    Melee units walk sideways to cover the artillery beginning on turn one.

    Unfortunately for me (as I don't want to face him next round! lol) marnepup has a good plan to deal with this Goblins and frankly, this is just a really poor matchup for them.

    Raining death from the sky, the Empire return home victorious.

    (Sorry I'm at work so the explanation is short.

    Even assuming best possible tactics from the goblins, I still wouldn't see them winning against the brick wall they are facing. The sword hordes shouldn't have too much trouble against the heavily depleted enemy units. Empire
