Three wounds at toughness 5, a 3+ save (i think), a 4+ ward and stupidity, in one round enemies become WS 1 while trying to hit. (usually the first one.)

silverblade

silverblade was a dark elf assassin, renowned for her ability to hit an opponents weak spots with lethal presicion. Once, long into her career of death, she was sent to destroy Lacrimosa Iceheart, a vampiress who had already claimed the ilves of several previous assassins. When Lacrimosa defeated her, instead of killing her, she bound silverblade to her bidding, and gave her the "gift" of vampirism. Since then, silverblade has imhumed a great many targets, using her new skills to the most she is able to. She strikes with leathal precision and unnatural speed, leaving behind less traces than a gust of wind. Except, of course, for her victims, which are often found with no visible marks, in locked rooms, with magical protection. she does not know what she must do here, but she knows that it will become apparent when her mistress wishes it.

Silverblade is average height for a dark elf, does not use armour, for it would slow her movemetns. She wears a simple lightweight cloak and lightweight clothes, chosen for silence while moving, and to allow maximum agility. These are not quite black, but slight dark green, to blend into the darkness better. When she does choose to use a weapon, it is typically a long and thin sliver of steel, which will inflict more damage when properly positioned than any clumsy sword could hope for. However, it is not often called for, for she has personally devised infinite ways of killing with little more a touch, for any race imaginable.

Her fighting style involes almost unfollowable agility, dancing over and around the enemy's blade, able to avoid even the most skillful bladework, before administering the lethal blow.

personally, i'm against the idea of challenges. with a bit of thought and some tuning of characters you could logically challenge someone who has already entered their character with a character who can beat them easily. lets face it, its unfair and gives certain players a distinct advantage over others however "innocent" it might be, no one is going to challenge a character sure to own them. more so when they know what someone else has.

for these reasons i hereby say we leave challenges out of the arena. there is a grudge match thread for this, lets keep it there.

I don't think you know the full picture. If the challenge is denied (which a user will do if the character proves too strong), then those two characters will not be facing each other at all until the final round, or earlier depending on how many other challenges have been refused. There is something to lose from them.

If someone challenges a character who wouldn't stand a chance if they fought, the challenged player can simply decline the challenge, and they the two won't meet by random pairing. So your explaination doesn't work.

on the contrary, it works perfectly well. it is still a way for people to try and tip the favour of an arena in their favour. not all players want to be put in a position where they are forced to choose between accepting or declining, at the risk of jibes from other players.

in turn ignoring the challenge doesn't do too much either, as you would be forced to not post in the thread until the arena starts. and possibly get harrassed until you give an answer (something that's happened to me in the past)

its a fine and fluffy idea if the arenas are more fluff driven, but on L-O people go in looking to win at the moment. the quality of the arena's quite bluntly have gone down in comparison to kuffy's, Cyrics and in turn steam tank drivers fluff masterworks. with so many more, quick, arenas active the focus is on victory rather than fluff epics (something i hope to bring back when i eventually start my own arena)

as such i still oppose challenges and my points are perfectly valid thank you very much.

The reason I am not posting my character is that until tomorrow afternoon (another 16+ hours away) I am approximately 140km from my army book. However, for arguments sake it will be something along the lines of:

Vampire
Infinite Hatred, Death Knight, Red Fury
Night Shroud, Talisman of Protection/Crown of Stupidity, Blood Drinker

2 Wounds, Striking first (opponent striking at Init.1), Re-roll misses, Extra Attacks (dependant on wounds) and ability to heal himself, all with a 3+/6(or 4)++.

As for the challenges, I'm not a big fan of them, they detract from the fluffiness of the arenas somewhat.
