    Why so many archers, i though you didn't like so many. Surely some silver helms would do better. It would give you another fighty unit which you need at 2500.

    i dont see the point in spending 170 pts on a mage w/ only 5 power dice. u would hardly ever get a spell in in a 2500 pt army...not worth the mage imo

    We in our gaming group are thinking of having 1 mage maximum for our games. Sorry for not explaining that before.

    Also, the Silver Helms are too fast for what i need, and 30 archers are worth a shot, imo. They can kill something. Perhaps =P . I just wanted to test out some units i never use.

    no lotheren sea guard i notice lol

    if your restricted to 1 mage you might want to throw in a banner of sorcery some where, or would that defeat the purpose of your gaming groups rule?
    Also i was wondering why you took the blade of sea gold on your prince, there is already a -2 to saves from him, so it would really only be useful against heavy cav. just curious. If your playing defensivly great eagles would be helpful to march block, reavers work well to but they are limited to the flanks of the army at least for a turn if the dont want to get killed, great eagles can land right behind the lines and stop even more from marching. giving you an extra round of shooting. looks nice though

    Cant take Eagles, as my rare slot is taken by RBTs (much better as it is for wiping out heavy cavalry and ranked units) .

    Other than that, I dont think I want the Banner of Sourcery. With only 3 spells, I dont think I need all those dice. I dont really like alot of magic in my games, if i can avoid it.

    It is up to you but Archers have never made pts back in my games, you need 4+ to hit, 4+ to wound and usually enemy have a 5+ save meaning less than a 1/4 will kill something. Try it out anyway though let us know if it works.Will you find space to line up 30 Archers?
    I suspect if people have to take a mage all non magic armies will take is lvl 1 scroll caddy. Is there an exception to this for armies where it is unfluffy to have magic?
    Where does the 3rd spell come from, I'm probably not looking hard enough but none of his honours give him an extra spell or did you mean 2.
    Have you ever tried phoenix guard, they are not that bad, probably most use if you are playing MSU.

    THe Mage has 2 lvls and is going High Magic (of course) brining the total to 3 spells (Drain Magic, Flames of the Phoenix, and Fury of Khaine) .

    And no, there is no expection as far as magic is concerned.

    I just have to say,if you dont like magic to the point where you are almost banning it,dont play fantasy. Its a huge part of this game,and for many races,practically essential. For HE's magic is a huge strength,especially compared to the other option of combat heros. In VC and TK's,magic is practically essential,as without it your army cant do things like march,or replenish its troops(which have the stats of 2 pt goblins but cost 5x as much,hence the ability to ressurect). Also,in things like lizardmen,its just fluffy,as well as tzeetch. Its fine to have a limit on magic,as it can get out of hand,but 1 mage is really too little,make it something like 1 per thousand points,lord choice wizards 1 per 2,000 pts.

    I just have to say, that we want magic, but we prefer to keep it down a notch, so it wont be that damned cold war thingie where one of us suddenly gets 2 mages, then the rest have to get 2 to defend from those, and then someone gets 3 mages, etc etc etc. 1 mage can still get off the odd spell and is allright.
