I got sikc of sword masters and little kiddies doing identikit armies, so I did an alternate HE army list.

I have no sword masters or a level 4 archmage AND EVEN NO HE PRINCE WITH SOWRDMATSER AND ARMOUR OF THE GODS!

What do you think? It will probably fail, but I am aimig to co oridnate each and ever unit with each other.

The SW go in front of the Phoenix guard, and two units of archers support and shoot the unit the spearmen are going to charge/recive charge and the first unit of spearmen are supported by the fast cavelry, so they are sort of the offensive flank/side.

The seer choses the spell 'doom and darkness' and casts it on the unit which is being shot at or about to be in combat with the Phoenix guard. This means they WILL be failing the panic test and WILL be failing the fear test, meaning the softie Phoenix guard will be being hit on a 6+.

An origional thought is a rare commodity in this world, so would ths tactic work?

Oh, and the other mage will probably choose high magic to protect against magic.

Out of 10? What should be taken out or included?

i applaud you for this list, im not the only one who thinks that phoenix guard can be useful. This list takes advantage of every phase of the game, with enough bows you should be able to kill a few models a turn. I was wondering about the reavers, obvioulsy you are going to be playing fairly defensive, so it will be difficult to get them around your enemies flanks while they are engaging your troops in the 2nd turn. what is more likely is they will be shot at with everything your opponent has or charged by his cavalry. you probaly just want to sit them on your line and get a flank charge, but silver helms do it just as well. the only other problem is that your army lacks real hitting power. everything has S3 exept your phoenix guard and RBT's. against lots of cav you will have a hard time getting past their armour. the PG cant be everywhere at once. U might have to cave and get a supporting unit of swordmasters or just wing it and see what happens, good luck. id like to see how this list works.

It has already begun my friend, I caved in and got some sword masters and I bought a commander with Lion guard to make one of the spearmen units stubborn, so they act as an anvil, and I can get another flank charge off.

Should I replace the reavers with two great eagles?

On the other hand I was considering turning the swordmasters into Lion guard and hiding them in a wood on a flank, effectivly making me dominate that one flank. I could also make the commander a BSB so he can't be the general, making one of my mages with general with the Lion guard, making them stubborn (two stubborn units!!!&#33

I would probably have to choose the death lore spell which ignores armour saves to kill the hard hitting things on the enemy.

    What do you think?
