I'm sure all of us would like to have an extra thousand or so words to work with, but that's part of the challenge. Besides, I think our readers/voters for this competition will appreciate it if we keep our short stories short. My strategy was to keep the sotry simple, and to not include those silly, five-hundred-word introductions that characters always seem to get when they appear.

You don't have any restrictions except it has to be fantasy related. Make a story, write a fluff battle report or whatever you like as long as it's 2000 words or less.
