Which I understand. It really is a non issue, and to be entirely honest: I don't care what happens with this stuff. GW owns about 90% of the material. For either of us, Garril could become a standard dwarf for any other 'universe'. The only thing that I can really lay any claim to is- as you said- the names. At my college we've had loads of discussions about publishing and stuff, as part of classes. It's ridiculously convoluted.
Oh well- we're wildly off topic and I wanted to keep the thread down to a request/reply format.

So, on that note:

Who's next? It's the middle of the day in the middle of the week and it's raining here. I'm bored. Bail me out!

Well if no one else has anything, and you don't mind I'm too lazy to do what I said, I can't write nearly as well as you can. So.....how about expanding the fluff you gave me? With the Fluff per Battle idea I was thinking of? I just finished a 500pt battle with an Empire player. The scenery was a small empire town, with a few scattered buildings and a main road. Little to no trees let along forests. I was using a large unit of marauders, warriors, warhounds and my hero with the filth mace. He was using A cannon, a unit of knights (not sure what kind blazing sun maybe?), a warrior priest and a unit of swordsmen (?). It was a massacre for me, with the filth mace scaring his troops away most of the time (they rallied alot, but It kept them away so i could pick at his units one at a time), after defeating his hero in a duel....umm Cannon never misfired but never hit anything.....ANYTHING. I lost like..5 marauders. and 5 warhounds out of 10. Thats basically anything notable if you need it. Other than that, artistic freedom to you . Hope this keeps you from bordom.

Anyways, of course you can put in a request. I love writing, so the more the merrier.
Lolz - of course it was sarcasm :-)

And I actually meant that I too love writing fluff so would be more than happy to share some of teh load if you'd like writing stuff...

Default hey

kinda been on LO for a couple of weeks but still kinda fresh... is it okay to post a fluff request here?

I've stated a beastmen army, I have 10 warhounds, regiment of beastmen and a beast lord (the one with a great weapon over his head) at the moment.
I've just been struggling to come up with a direction for it all... I converted all the gors into a bloodbowl team, although they're still going to fight as well. i have no idea what models I'm going to buy next! anyone got any ideas for a background? thanks.

oh, and they're all darkish brown (bestial brown highlights over scorched brown) with darkangels green cloths)

thanks!! waddy

---

Edit: hope this isn't annoying... but I was thinking of including werewolves in the force!! As part of phoenix's edited beastmen army book bestigors can be given skirmish, and with their S4 T4 and A2 I thought i'd put some werewolves in there. I have NO IDEA about models to use for this (anyone got ideas?!) but its something that i'd love to do to be a bit induvidual maybe if some of the fluff could be about how they came in? I was thinking maybe my herd could be a bit further south, in forests around vampire-type territory (werewolves being mortal enemies of vampires). thanks alot!!

Its worth pointing out that while werewolves do exist in the warhammer world (though not as a seperate race per say) they have no special connection to vampires (such as hatred) as they do in other fantasy settings.

Default hmm

i didn't actually know they existed in the warhammer world... are there models for them??

its okay that they don't have hatred for vampires, as the rules for bestigors don't include hatred for fanged pale things :-P hehe.

but thanks alot for the info *goes to go track down werewolf models from somewhere*

Alright everyone, I understand that I now have 2 pending requests. These can be expected some time soon. I arrived home from working after an all-night party with some friends, and am in no condition to write anything taxing. So, here's the run down:

@ Lecai- I would be happy to help you write your "battle-by-battle" fluff. However, I think that what I'm going to do is start a new thread with your army's fluff and fight them there. That'll keep this thread from becoming overwhelmed with wildly expanded pieces. There is a whioe other section. Watch for a link within an edit of this post.

@ Kithre- at the moment (not at this very moment, I can handle the flow of writings coming into the shop. That's sort of how I like it. I will continue to write the fluff myself, until I become overrun, which will likely never happen. It's bittersweet- I hope that more people are expanding, that's why this is here.

@ WaddyWoos, I can write that piece of fluff for you. I've looked at different info sources and I think I know how I want to make the Werewolf thing work for you. Finally however, try to remember that this is an answer-request thread. I'm trying to keep this thread somewhat tidy, so that people don't have to search 100 pages to find a piece of fluff.

@ Visitor- I wanna see Garril's stuff! I'm interested in what you've done. Share! lol

Other info= Painted predominantly purple and green.Has a trophie cabinet (Anything that he's killed that I can imagine him keeping) that includes a dragon head and 4 chariot wheels(from different chariots I might add)

Thank you so much If you can think up something good as I'm a bit stumped.Dont worry If you dont get round to it though.

Hi, CaptainSarathai, I would like to request some fluff for my Dark Elf army, which contains a master with Soulrender, heavy armour, a repeater crossbow, a seadragon cloak and the Pendant of khaeleth, some corsairs, some crossbowmen, (who I realy want to model as corsairs with repeater crossbows) some dark riders, a rather large black guard regiment and a war hydra. I tend to fight wood elves and soon I will also fight the Daemons of Chaos.

I got some restrictions, but everything else is okay. The most important one is that the black guard unit should not be under Malekith's orders. Another thing is (as you most likely already have seen) that I do not use any cold ones in the army, something that might be worth using as a cornerstone. The last one is that it is corsair-themed and only active in the old world.

Also, the Master should be named Sethor. You get free reins with the last name(?).

I got no deadline at all. You are realy talented. Good luck further on!

Alright- it took me some willpower, some coffee and a cold shower, but I got down to work and finished up Waddywoos' fluff. Lecai- yours is in the works, in a separate thread as promised. All others will be answered as they were presented to me. Much love guys- I like writing fluff for you all, and you're all coming up with some pretty cool ideas
This fluff focuses largely on the werewolves within your list. They are difficult models to come by though, so a total rewrite may be in order. Note that the village name is based on the russian word for "Werewolf", that your character is 'Lycan' backwards, and it has a bit of an M.Night feel to it.

Quote:
A Traveler's Report of Oboroten
There stands a dense and nigh impenetrable forest in south western Kislev, where locals fear to travel. There is but one village here, the isolated farming village of Oboroten stands solemnly outside the trees. Outsiders find the customs of Oboroten to be far more outlandish than even the Eastern or Norscaan tribes. Almost every dwelling bears a small amulet of pure silver over the doorway. Each of the windows is fastened with silver nails, and even the poorest of homeowners is willing to pay the extra expense. Villagers shun the full moon, and they have erected watchtowers along the border of their town and the woodlands beyond. On a day just after the autumn equinox each year, the villagers gather meat and fish and make a large offering to the spirits of the forest, hoping in vain for a respite from the constant attacks from the woodlands.

The people of Oboroten are stockily built, even for Kislevite standards. They have broad hands and flat faces with deep set eyes and thick eyebrows. The men of Oboroten considered ‘hairy’ by outsiders- which is a mark of low social status- and indeed Oboroten often escapes notice by legal officials, the priesthood, and tax collectors.

One thing which the villagers of Oboroten are not overlooked by, are the constant predations of the Beastmen. Gors and Ungors alike assault the borders of the towns, striking from the forests in the dark of night. They butcher men, slaughter farm animals, and steal away children to carry back to the forest. On the brightest of nights, when the full light of Morrslieb is showing in the sky, the beasts are joined by more terrifying creatures. They are not beastmen, though they are neither more man-like or beast-like. They are wolfish in appearance, but they walk on two legs like a man, or lope along on all fours in the manner of the gorillas of the East. It is believed that they are able to read and understand language, although they speak only in the braying of a hound. The creatures are massive, said to weigh almost four hundred pounds. They are strong enough to break through a barricaded door, or tear a man to pieces with their clawed hands. Wherever these creatures appear, the twisted hounds of Chaos are drawn to them, as though they are all but a family of wolves, and this bipedal member is their alpha.

It is said that these great beasts are shape-shifters, in the manner of the Bearmen of the far North. The citizens of Oboroten claim that their village was in fact founded not by Kislevites, but by a wandering band of Northmen who travelled through the forest and made their home along it’s edge. The few census takers who have travelled to Oboroten refute such claims, as the people of Oboroten share many common Kislevite features. However, this does little to explain how the citizens of Oboroten know the weaknesses of the apex predator within their forest. Oboroten is not the only village plagued by such beasts, although only the people of Oboroten go to great lengths to use silver nails and sigils in their homebuilding, and it is true that their people are the least affected by the Wolf Kin in particular.

If it is true that Oboroten is descended from the Norse, then it would mean that their version of the founding of their town is at least somewhat truthful. They claim that many centuries ago, a Norse chieftain asked the gods to make him into the must ferocious, most cunning warrior in all the lands surrounding his hillfort. They say that on the next full moon of Morr, the chieftain was wracked with painful contortions and his body twisted into the figure of a great wolf. The shamans and elders of the tribe demanded that Nacyl be kept under watch. He slew three of his overseers, but when dawn arose the next day, the slavering wolf returned to human form, exhausted. From that point on, every full Morrs, Nacyl became a wolf. Nacyl discovered that by exposing others to the same dark pact which he had made himself, he could turn them into shape-shifting monsters as well. Over the generations, the entire tribe became predatory hunters, and the gift became linked to their very blood. Some youths however were left without a drop of the wolven blood.

Such “bloodless” youths were looked down upon. If they could not change into a wolf on the night of the full moons, the tribe would set them to slave labor, no better than a captured enemy warrior. It was not long before these slaves staged a blood revolt. They cut themselves free of their shackles and hacked down their masters before escaping into the night and turning south. They were pursued by Nacyl and his warriors, who would not stand to see their slaves escape so easily.

The slaves fled south to the lands of Kislevs, battling all the way against the tribe at their heels, and the beastmen of the woods. As soon as they cleared the dense forest, the slaves built the town of Oboroten. Nacyl and his warriors were caught in a vicious war against the beastmen. When Nacyl reached the forest edge, he saw that the slaves had made a defensible town with the aid of the Kislevites.

Nacyl drew up his cadre of shifter-soldiers, and turned back into the woods. His powerful warband was able to easily subdue and induct the many scattered Beast Herds located throughout the ancient mass of trees. Marshalling this new force before him, Nacyl has laid Oboroten to siege. Though his warriors cannot pass the gates of silver, he sends his beasts on raids, and himself participates in raids against those travelers coming or going from the town.

It should be of note that the author of this text did not believe this to be a true recounting of the history of this small backwater village, but stood corrected after a horrid night of braying hounds, and waking to find three-inch deep furrows scratched into the wood around his window frame. My the Tzar and Ulrik bless us, if this is truly the foe which Oboroten has been battling since it’s first foundations were set.
