Rep Power: 98 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Submissions will be handled on roughly a First-Come, First-Serve basis. If I am falling behind or choose to delay a particular submission for any reason, I will post here to notify you. If possible, I'd like submissions in the following forms: -Name of Army/Character -Some kind of background (army list, equipment, ideas, framework, etc) -style of writing (if you have any preferences) Things to remember 1: All forum rules apply. Trust me, I've been here a while, I don't really have time to deal with trolling or flaming. 2: Please keep your submissions reasonable and/or somewhat to the GW "cannon". I don't want to be writing about 'Winnifred the Peace-Loving Ork' for example. 3: I'd prefer not to write the same exact thing twice. I'll be keeping pending requests and completed requests as Permalinks here in this first post. Before you request a new piece, please just take a moment to look over the list of completed works and see if any of them suit what you need. I doubt this will be a problem, as most fluff requests are individual, but if you are requesting just "A Prince of Caledor and his Noble Dragon", please make sure that I haven't already written a peace for "A Prince of Caledor and his Noble Dragon". 4: If you have already written your piece, and are in need of an editor- that's not my job. I can edit your work, but please post it in YOUR OWN THREAD, and then post me a link and I'll go comment on it there. This is just to save everyone time and space. A good sign that your army background is in the state that I tend to work with is if it is short, vague, confused, a few attributes of the army, the army list, or a combination of those. 5: Please keep all your posts in here related to your requests. If you feel that I need to correct something in someone's fluff, you can send me a PM with the problem and I promise that I'll look into it. This is to avoid raging fluff debates and all kinds of other problems. 6: This will likely never be an issue, but I'm told I should include it. While I fully endorse anyone who would like to expand on these stories or characters for their own use, the initial rights to the story stay with me. I'm not going to be the "GW thought police" here- using the previous Ork example, if you want to change my fluff to name your character Winifred, and make him a pacificist, that's alright with me. This is mostly just for that rare once-in-a-lifetime shot that someone would ever want to publish me. 7: Finally- just a note to other authors: I don't expect to get bogged down or delayed here, so I think I'll be okay writing on my own. However, if you want to lend a helping hand, please PM me. I know that several of you are excellent writers and fluffmeisters and I'd be more than happy to have you on board. If you send me a PM, I'll take your skills into consideration and recruit you as soon as you're needed. That's all, time to open up the shop to anyone who'd like a bit of fluff. Okay fluffmeister! I've gone and recently changed my whole lizardmen's colour scheme from a dark bone/brown to a bright orange. My army will consist of mainly "hot" colours. here is the request; I would like fluff for an army that worships chotec(sp?). I would also like them to be more "intelligent" than your average lizardmen. I was thinking something sort of like their own temple + city+ spawning pool with them basically having changed to adapt to their environment. By more intelligent I really want them to be "sneaky like" and tactical which is something the lizardmen aren't exactly known for. My army is led by a slann most of the time but I do have an oldblood. Perhaps a slann and an old blood who lead the army to be more tactical? I'm terrible with fluff, so i'm really not giving you much to go on... Also, ultimately some fluff background for my slann, old blood and skink chief. I can't make any suggestions for the slann but for the old blood I would like something along the lines of him being wise and rational rather than just a killing machine. For the skink chief, just something for the way I play him. he flies around the board with either +1S or killing blow taking on things which he probably has no chance against but I charge him in there anyway. Being your first request here and having no chance to read any prior ones do tell me if this is what you're after. I don't want to be limiting you or making this difficult for you by giving you TOO much to go on. A reply here or a swift PM upon seeing this please, if only just to confirm that this is the right way to request your fluff ![]() Thanks a bunch! Glavas EDIT: Arrogance and pride! lots of that if possible. Hopefully this isn't your peaceful orc example... EDIT2: Lists often look like this; Slann Skink priest on EOTG Skink priest on foot Skink chief with cloak of feathers Temple guard Saurus warriors Skink skirmishers Skink skirmishers Skink skirmishers Skink skirmishers Chameleon skinks Chameleon skinks Salamanders Occationally I take an Oldblood instead of the slann, add a few more saurus with fewer skinks. The cold one cav are also a favourite of mine. I don't know how you can make the bigger dinos "fluffy" perhaps luring the enemy to stegs? Salamanders are naturally aquatic, fast moving predators so I imagine they won't be hard. The old blood occationally rides a carnosaur, so a name for him too please? As promised, I paid careful attention to your fluff as you were my first brave customer. It ran a little long, but it explains your army quite well, from their pride to their choice of skinks rather than saurus, and their stealthiness. It seems a little epic, which can be a bad thing in a back story- kinda like saying that you defeated abaddon, but I think it's still very believable. If you notice, I named your temple city Temo'plai, a play on Thermopylae. The whole story is based somewhat on the 300, as it chronicles the fall of a proud and intelligent warrior city. Quote:

Generally I am pretty good at coming up with background for my armies but some extra input in this case would be useful. Basically I have a Dwarf army that I am going to start using. The 'problem' is the army is ancient. Many of the Dwarfs are wearing what seems like Brettonian style armour (Featuring both Knight and Men at Arms helms) and many are even wielding double handed swords. I was thinking of a mercenary army of dwarfs (I may include an Ogre regiment in the future) that weren't from an established hold but were 'outcast' dwarfs, ones which had grown up in human lands. But of course Brettonians generally don't use mercenaries. However my basic army includes lots of Warriors and Iron Breakers and generally a few Thunderers but comparitivly few war machines at the moment though I have access to a lot. They don't need to have a particular Brettonian conenction, many of them are in traditional Dwarfen garb as well, but it might help. Oh and as a last thought I play 80% of my games against Lizard men and 15% against Dark Elves so I am guessing at some point they have travelled to the new world. (I don't mind saying that Iron Breakers Hammerers etc actually just represent Veteran Dwarfs). Anyway thoughts on where to go with this would be appreciated.

This is quite a bit shorter than the work for Glavas. I know that you are quite the writer Vis. Q. Infact, if ever I fell behind, I considered asking you for your help. I have both the Dwarf and Brettonian book. I pulled the most info from the Brettons. It seems that both races have a common enemy in the form of the Orcs. I figure that it's quite possible that your dwarf hold was overrun by goblins (as dwarf holds are wont to do) and the dwarves fled towards Bretonia. The Bretonian history actually shows that in IY2201 they launched a crusade against the Orcs. This occures in a few other years as well, but usually to the south-east in Araby. The only other "local" retribution was under the reign of Gilles, their version of King Arthur. I opted for a short story for you, to give you a feel for the relationship and to explain your enemies and choice of weaponry. Also gives me a chance to showcase a different writing style, other than Glavas' historical piece. Quote:

Cheers. This stuff is great. I fought two battles today against Lizardmen and another with Lizardmen and Goblins allied, though I use the term allied loosely. The goblins spent the game squabbling under the 'leadership' of a drunk (Stupid) goblin warboss. Anyway 'The Legend of Garill Hammerfist and the Ballad of The New World' has begun!

Well I'm impressed with what you're doing here, I'm not massivley into fluff or writing for that matter but I've been building a Bretonnian army recently and will probably be blogging it's progress so a background article would be a fantastic addition to the blog/army progress thread. I'm still undecided on the theme/story/backrgound of the army at the moment all I know is I want it to be unique. Once I've put some more thought into it I'll post my ideas.

this sounds interesting.. I have an ogre army that im trying to get fluffed out. Ive got a few ideas, but im drawing blanks in some area's so maybe you could help me out. My general idea is thus: The ogres were hired by Dark Elves as mercs to fight lizardmen. So an entire tribe of ogres migrated to the jungles, as this was to be a long battle/war. once the battle was over, and the DE's had what ever magic item they were looking for, they just left the ogres in the jungles to die. Only the ogres didnt die, they adapted. Durring the many battles, they thought the lizardmen were worthy advesaries. so after destroying many villages and displacing many lizardmen they were known to be a force to be reckoned with. thats about all ive got with a few other details, such as they have skink's as slaves, just as they do gnobo's. and there is a great deal of animosity amongst the gnobos and skinks. they worship steggadons, and think that they are imbodiments of the great maw. children of the maw, if you will. I dont have a name for my army, which would be cool nor do I have a name for my Tyrant or bruiser. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. the list i usually run is: 1 tyrant 3 butchers a few units of bulls 4 units of iron guts a gorger or two a couple lead belchers gnobo trappers and a scrap launcher, that ive built around a steggadon. Wow. Another request in a day, and it's one more for the Jungles of Lustria! Ogres are a tough one to write for- they don't have very many motivations in the world. Seeking the Maw, seeking gold, and eating as much as they can along the way. However, I've come up with a story that contains the information that you gave me. Also, No1CafC- if you want, you can send me a PM with your list and painting scheme, and any details (even tiny ones) that you'd like to have in your army's background. A lot of the fluff can come as a second thought that results from your colors or composition. There's no rush at all if you'd like more time to think about your army. I'm just happy that there's a request for something NOT related to Lustria, lol. Quote:
