From what I know of the Elixir of Nagash from the knowledge I've collected from my Tomb King fluff over the years it was specifically designed to corrupt the Royal Family of Lamia...hence (IMO) humans.
Also, the entire thing that started this, the Mortoraty Cult and Settra's quest for eternal life was specifically focused at raising humans from the grave. Liche priests have prepared rituals to raise other specific creatures such as Carrion and can summon the spirits of great warriors into statues to make them animate (or have Gods infuse them with power in the case of Necropshinxes). However these are very specific circumstances which the Cult prepared for over millenia, Vampirism is a specific rite that is designed to work in a specific way, the Lamians might have changed the basics a bit but from this I would guess that only humans could be Vampires.

Hope 13 days on this wont be necroing an old convo but I have a question. I haven't been able to find any instances of half dwarf/ half humans about in the WHFB universe, However I'm wondering has anyone ever read anything on this. Also if there is an instance of this is the crossbreed more likely to be able to sub-come to the vampire "curse" or virus? That could be an avenue to follow if starting a vampire dwarf.

although fantasy race hybrids are a fairly well established trope it's typically male elf/female human or male human/ female what ever 'slave' race that fantasy ip has got. Since warhammer has never made much of a big deal about either the mechanics of breeding and the nature of relationships it's difficult to say whether it's possible or not to have a half human/ half dwarf in it's universe but I would be on the side of no. However as always feel free to abuse the grey area as much as you wish as they have never written that it isn't possible only that it's not happened yet. Considering that imperial dwarf thunderer regiments exist it's plausible to assume that atleast one of them has got their freak on with the tea lady at some point.

Great from ankle breakers to ankle bitters!!!!Joking here.
Fallen Autarch the only instance i know of human/dwarf hybrids is outside of fantasy in an old DND world called Dark Sun.The race was called mules(yes it was)and they were tall as a man and well muscled but were sterile.
Praise be to the Emperor!!

Apologies for the minor necroing her but I came across something relavent. In a warhammer novel from 1989 called "Drachenfels" there is a dwarf vampire who was once the ruler of Karak Varn and in the novel is a leader of a vampire coven. Came across it in a second hand book pile.
