No there isn't a common language in the Old World and there might well be language difficulties between two races. However most elder races (Elves and Dwarfs) will be able to pick up Old Worlder (Riekspiel accent), The Language of the Empire, quite easily for two reasons. First it's simpler than their own tounge and secondly they are longer lived so taking 10 years to learn human tounge wouldn't be as much of a challenge. Also remember that Dwarfs are allied with humans and they might take it as a matter of honour (and typical dwarfish prudence) to learn their allies language. Elves on the other hand might decide to take short sabatical (say a century or two) learning the native tongues of more primitive races. Most Humans won't know Dwarfish (Khazalid)

this post deals with the polar gate on page 9 sorry this post is so late, but like nite rabbit said it is like a huge flood, but even if it is a huge flood would it not be possible to channel the magic somewhere else and to than dam up the gate. I mean isnt that how we as people in the real world make dams.

In the map of the Ogre Kingdoms, there's an area just south of 'Gnoblar country' and just north of 'The Dragon Isles' called 'The Haunted Forest'... What's in the Haunted forest? Is it named so because its got ghosts and undeadies in there? or is it named so because of Forest spirits? |
