I prefer the worlds to be seperate, I just dislike pocket world within the 40k galaxy concept. If this were 40k I'd say Gork and Mork were created by the collective thoughts of the orks, just like any other warp entity. Since the worlds are implied to now be seperate, I have no idea. The Old Ones are strange to me, since they seem as though they almost aren't gods, and yet at the same time seem to be the greatest of all warhammer gods. Do they still exist, or were they somehow slain with the collapse of the warp gate? They were far-sighted enough to enact plans that would last for millenia, so they could be destroyed already. |

They where slaughtered by the gods of chaos when the polars collapsed. Either that or they escaped from the world, with the Slann trying to keep the world in shape until the old ones come back.

Ok folks, first things first.. Fantasy came first. That's right long before the 40k concept appeard t'was all fb, so they put 40k into FB not t'other way round. Now the old ones. The Old Ones were mystical beings that came to the Old World on flying chariots, they actually used a series of walkways. The ways off the world was at the north and south poles, these were otherwise known as the Polar Gates. At some point the polar gates collasped, this allowed the evil of chaos to seep into their works. Seeing the world was doomed the Old Ones managed to leave just before the collapse of the gates and the effective birth of the Chaos Gods. The Old Ones created; Lizardmen - Slann are the guardians of the Old World, even now they carry out their masters plans for the world. Elves, Dwarfs - These were made in an attempt to create the perfect creature, IIRC. The elves were put onto Ulthuan and the dwarfs on the main old world land, though they later migrated into the mountains. The orcs it is unknown how they appeared, they just did and well they like to fight ![]() KU |

I know Fantasy came first, which is part of the reason I dislike the deliberate link between the worlds concept. Having the same Chaos gods is fine by me, as is having terribly similar races, but the notion of the two being directly connected doesn't do anything for me. Now to the beef of the matter. Firstly, thanks for the information, especially King Ulrik. Did the Old Ones simply sail the seas of magic to get between worlds? That seems to be what's implied by the polar gates. Did they decide that magic was critical to the Warhammer world and construct the gates to deliberately channel the winds of magic through the world in an orderly way? |

Magic didn't exist before the Polar collapse, it was the ermergance of Chaos that brought magic. If you did know magic is derived from chaos, the eight winds blow from the north in turn the magic users will take hold of the single wind they're trained with and use the power to form their spells. The Old Ones used the gates to leave the world, it's never been stated how (unless it was previous editions). But it has said they had "sky ships" upon which they left the Old World, so it points to being of great technology compared. Other than that nothing really. Ku |

Nope, both orc gods are for war. That's the only thing orcs understand is war and fighting, if anything IMO Gork and Mork were created by the orcs. They all began to worship something and "bam!" the two orc gods appeared to them. I'm still yet to find any older orc fluff on the twins. KU |

Actually, Gork is more for Brute Force, and Mork is more for.. well.. 'sneaky thinking'. Or something like that. I heard it somewhere, just can't remember from where. The 'ardboyz worshipped Gork the most, so maybe Mork is more kind towards the shamans and Goblins, who create ingenius machines of war.

I always thought that all the gods were Old ones (except Sigmar and the Emperor) but the different races imagined them differently.
