    Deployment
We deployed our units one at a time taking it in turns. I based the bulk of my Skaven Army in the centre and spread the rest of my units across the board. While my opponent put all of his force in the centre, all bulked together. He put three units of minotaurs together in a line and a unit of chaos hounds directly in front of each other on the left hand side of the board opposite my warp-lightening cannon. Marc won the dice roll son he got to go first.
    Beasts of Chaos Turn 1
The beasts first turn was pretty simple, they moved all their units slightly to the left but as f forward as they could possibly go. Marc then decided to try and cast affliction but the Skaven arm dispelled it.
    Skaven turn 1
I moved everything forward apart from 1 Clarat unit and my Warp Lightening cannon. My Warlock engineer in my Clanrat unit with the screaming bell had some of his Chaos Hounds in sight so I tried to cast Warp Lightening but missed. My other Warlock Engineer tried the same but got a missed cast and ended up losing 1 wound and a power level. But not all was lost because my Grey Ser managed to cast plaque by getting a 13 which for Skaven means irresistible force. By the time the spell had disappeared it wiped out half of 4 of Marc’s Chaos Hound units. After that all that was let was shooting phase. The only unit in my reach was the Warp Lightening cannon so I used it. Marc only had 1 Minotaur in my line of sight so I aimed for hat but did not even scratch it.
    Beasts of Chaos turn 2
Marc decided to use 1 full unit and 1 half strength unit of Chaos Hounds to charge one of my lave units. He then moved everything else on his side of the board forward apart from one of his Bray Shaman. In the magic phase Marc cast afflictions on my Plaque Monks with irresistible force. He also tried casting poxex which was dispelled. In the combat phase Marc’s Chaos Hounds took out 2 of my Slaves. My Slaves could not even hit them but when we worked out the combat revolution my Slaves won by 1. My Slaves unit ran down the half strength unit of Chaos Hounds and unlucky for me I also ran into one of his Minotaur units. It was the unit with great weapons, it that was not bad enough it also had his Dombull.

    Skaven turn 2
I charged my Slave unit that was not in combat into one of Marc’s Minotaur units. I then moved my Rat Ogres and my Plaque Monks forward. In the magic phase I tried to cast plaque with my Grey Seer and warp lightening with my Warlock Engineer but both were dispelled with dispel scrolls. Only 4 to go. (Yes the Git has 6 dispel scrolls in total). I then shot with my Warp Lightening Cannon and took out 1 Chaos Hound and 2 Minotaurs. In the combat phase my Slave unit was against his Minotaurs with great weapons and his Dombull. The Slaves cored one wound on his Minotaurs but he took out 9 Slaves. The remaining Slaves ran away and got ran down. The Minotaurs and Doombull they ran into my Clanrat unit pushing the Screaming bell. My other Slave unit lost the combat against his unit of Minotaurs and ran away but they didn’t get chased.
    Beast of Chaos turn 3
Marc charged 2 half strength Chaos Hound units into my Warp Lightening canon, he also charged a unit of Minotaurs into a Clanrat unit. The unit of Minotaurs with the Doombull defeated the Clanrat unit with the Screaming bell and they ran to the edge of the board. The Chaos Hounds then took out my Warp Lightening cannon and the other Minotaur unit beat my Clanrats and they ran away and got run down.
    Skaven turn 3
I rallied my Clanrats with screaming bell and charged my Rat Ogres unit into a Minotaur unit. I then moved my Plaque Monks forward. I tried to cast warp lightening, plaque and pestilent breath but missed all of them in the shooting phase. I rang the screaming bell and as a result my Clanrat unit became stubborn. My Rat ogres caused 2 wounds on the Minotaur unit but lost the combat and ran away but they didn’t get chased down.
    Beast of Chaos turn 4
Marc charged my Clanrat unit with the screaming bell using his Minotaurs with Dombull. He also charged my Plaque Monks with a Minotaur unit. In the combat phase the Clanrats held out against the Minotaurs. The Clanrat champ got beaten in a challenge by the Doombull. SURPRISE SURPRISE the Minotaurs in combat with the Plaque Monks got beaten and run down.
    Skaven turn 4
My Plaque Monks charged a Bray Shaman and missed; the Globadiers chucked some globes at a unit of Chaos Hounds but missed. The combat then continued between the Clanrats and the Minotasurs. Marc issued another challenge and beat the Warlock Engineer. The Clanrat unit then got beaten in combat. The clanrats, Grey Seer and Assassin then ran off the board.
    Beast of Chaos turn 5
Marc charged my 2 Globadiers with all the Chaos Hounds and Minotaurs that could reach. This then wiped them all out.
    Skaven turn 5
I turned my Plaque Monks to face the Minotaur unit with the Doonbull in it. This was the only move I could make as they are my last unit on the board.
    Beast of Chaos turn 6
Marc’s Minotaurs with Dombull charged into the front of my Plaque Monks. He then charged some Chaos Hounds into the rear and you will never guess what? He decided to issue a challenge (SURPRISE, SURPRISE). As it was my last unit they had nowhere to run and hide so I accepted it with my Plaque Monk champ, he fell with ease, like the rat he is. Then the unit got beaten as they had nowhere to run. This brings the game to an end as I have no Skaven left on the board.

    Victory Points
    Skaven = 550 points
Beast of Chaos = 2493 points

    Overall:
    Beast of Chaos:
    Cows of the match:
Doombull for as my opponent would say “laying the smack down on everyone on the board”

    Skaven:
    Rats of the match:
Plaque Monks for destroying a unit of Minotaurs by running them down.

THANK YOU for taking the time to read this battle report and I look forward to reading your comments.

A heartfelt loss, my friend. I don't know how much has changed since 5th and 6th Edition with 7th edition, but going up against any Chaos Army, I would have brought Jezzail teams with me, assuming they work like they did in 5th edition, those usually were needed for Chaos Beastmen.

    ok

ok good idea but it dont help to much when his hole force including his doom bull can be in combat by turn 2 and there is not much in the skaven army that can stand agenst a doom bull
so has any one got any idea's

    Well, with Skaven......

Assuming 7th edition is not TOO radically apart from 5th and 6th edition.....

***Gutter Runners- Put them as close to them, even if they are going to be sacrificed. They still stop them from Marching and if he has any frenzy units, then they HAVE to charge them if they are in range. I know it's a waste of some points, but if positioned properly, it can stop them from marching on round 1. If you can put an Assassin in their rank, then even if charged you have a chance at dropping a minotaur or if you can get your blade in their general.......

***Warmachines- From 5th edition, WarpFire Throwers and Jezzails were there and were almost NEEDEd to use vs Chaos in any incantation, especially beasts. Poison Wind Gl0badiers also were needed. Warplight cannon and ratling gun as well are needed here

Honestly, if you can put these guys as far back as you can and put slaves and giant rats in position to speed bump them, it might buy you the time you need to degrade them.

Then you need either a good unit of Rat Ogres or a strong unit of Storm Vermin or Plague Monks to essentially mop up roles.

That will be a tough list for you to face period. For your assassin i would give him the weapon that does d3 wounds so he can take out characters. I disagree with the gutter runners against the beastmen as he had his minotaurs in a tight block it would be hard to get around them and march block etc. However a tunneling unit would help you against other armies.

One other thing in that situation you might want to consider getting your wizards, particularly the grey seer, out of the unit before it gets in combat, using skitterleep. Like I said before its a tough army for you to face and better luck next time.

He can't skitter leap the seer away from the bell.

Also when he charged the cannon it should have made a flee reaction (since it is the only option).

Since the beast list have no shooting at all I would put my engineers behind or to the side of his units and just let them fire away i the magic phase.

    Great battle rep though!

also in turn 1 you said you fired your cannon at the only unit it could see....the cannon doesn't need like of sight, in fact it fires though trees, hills, rocks or anything for that matter with no penalties.
    plague and pestilence to all

Oh, and in general, don't accept challenges, especially not with warplock engineers! Use the lead from the back special rule and leave combat next round. Then cast warp lightning if the unit still stands.
