Allied units: tomb kings and high elves

Hey guys I wanted to post this here since so many army's were involved...we played a 3 player game me dark elves against a split army of high elves and tomb kings. They are suspicious allies and he was healing the tomb kings constructs with regrowth multiple wounds. My question is if this is legit for multiple reasons: it seems like you can cast life spells on allies that are suspicious from the rules so if I'm right normally you could do this? Seems a tad flawed but I guess it also works for the game lore. The reason I wouldn't think it works on the tomb kings are an undead army and I remember seeing something about these undead guys heal differently then living enemies...am I totally drunk here can you truly use life against tomb kings through this method?

First off, suspicious allies or not, you could use any magic on any target as long as the targeting restrictions apply. I can for example cast a hex on my own unit, it is not particularly smart, but I can. Following that, you can use regrowth even on an enemy unit.

Besides that, it seems perfectly legal to me, there is no restrictions in the lore of life, that says it cannot target undead units nor is there anything in the tomb kings army book that indicates this. Undead units are almost the same as any other units in the Warhammer World.
That means Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest-son-of-a-bitch in space!

Sad but true on all accounts, although it should be obvious that suspicious allies wouldn't enjoy magic being thrown their way in the heat of a battle, and it should also be obvious that anything from the lore of Life on an undead or deamon figure in regards to healing (Regrowth, for instance.) should be automatically null.

WELL, NO. I WONDER THAT YOU MENTION TARGETING RESTRICTIONS NOT GIVING A THOUGHT WHAT MIGHT THOSE BE.
    PAGE 31:

"augument spells can never be cast on enemy units, no matter what benefit the player believes he might get
    [...]
hex spells can only ever be cast on enemy units [...]"

however, on page 509 you can find:

"Are treated as friendly units for the purposes of spells?
    trusted allies Y, suspicious Y, desperate N "

TK armybook doesnt mention lore of Life either so while not very fluffy, it was a legal move
