I mean a VW where everyone must have a theme to thier army e.g. a Night Goblin army or people could be more creative and come up with a much more interesting theme.

dont like it would be arbitrary as to what is themed or isnt.
i imagine and army of Nuln, for example, themed with loads of cannons an hellblasters

for myself i like the VW to be competitive .

Not sure if I'm missing something here, but something that gets to me is how we're supposed to know what various magic items do.

For example, a Runefang is guaranteed to be lethal against Chaos Knights, but suppose someone doesn't know what a Runefang does?

Idea
If you want more people participating, why not have something more like a round robin where everyone faces everyone? Then the winner would be the one that wins the most games. It would be very easy to lose interest if your army's been kicked out.

Just something to chew on.

One problem is use of bandwith. However, could the Staff Members not delete the threads from previous competitions?

Edit: Another thing which I've just thought of is that it's not so bad if you end up facing an opponent whose list has some of the best things at taking you down. eg, a Minotaur-heavy army will probably massacre a Night Goblin themed one. With this, the Night Gobbos can face some other opponents.
