So, for another current project (amongst World eaters, Nurgle & 1k sons) I'm also building a LatD army. I can pretty much presume that at least the 2 troopschoices from allied Chaos marines armies would be filled out. If not... I at least am.
Anyhow, I thinking different Traitor legions for different squads. As single squads come to the aid of the LaTD force. At the moment I'm painting up a squad as Red corsairs and a second squad.. .not sure, wanted to go Word bearers or something. However, I like the look of Night lords models and given that Night lords are pretty much history, ruleswise at least, I might make my second squad a Night lords squad.
Then again, I might go for Night lords if they're on bikes (as they're more of a fast attack kinda army) and alpha legion as chosen (as they have infiltrate). So then actually I'm out of marines for a second squad. But I'll think of something. Unless someone has some suggestions. (squad of fallen angels w/ Cypher for fluff might be nice, but heavily overcosted)
Further down the line I might, though Heavy support as allies isn't allowed, take a squad of lascannon havocs and make Iron warriors out of it. So pretty much fluffwise, a chaos army is comprised of the most specialised armysquads.
Would it make sense in a fluff kinda way. Single squads "aiding" other alligned armies?
so, i like your idea, my reccomendation would be to do KB,PM,TS,or NM. that way, you have undivided, and at least some cult.
das wha i got
Zoe: Doesn't the bible say something specific about killing?
Preacher: Yes, but it's somewhat fuzzy on the subject of kneecaps.
Well, for playability, I surely could use some cult marines as I think undivided only wouldn't really be the deal.
But I'm pretty much talking LaTD here w/ Chaos allies meaning 2 troops, 1 fast attacks, 1 elite, 1 hq. I do know that cult marines are troops now. Just the main idea for my marines as troops would be more fire support as marines have more staying power then Guard.
I tend to go Noise marines, at least, if they're not so hefty costed points and moneywise. If, I'd go full sonic blasters in it.
I thought about 1k sons, but the AP3 bolters... well, it's nice against MEQ armies though. But I'm not sure.
Nurgle... hmhm, might be. Has even more staying power.
Khorne... with a 30 mutant squad giving S4 attacks (and quite a lot of them; 60 + an extra each on the charge), I'm not to sure if I would really need a bunch of zerkers.
Nurgle, would pretty much depend on if I want to go w/ 2 plasmaguns or rely on heavier stuff like lascannons. Icon of Nurgle would be an option.
