Ok..so I'v eplayed the Spoace Marines for a long time now..Chaos is my Favorite foe to battle. However...I want to see how the other half lives. SO here is my question, In order to do a PURE tzeentch army..do I have to use the Thousand Sons..Or may I Custom do a Legion Dedicated to Tzeentch? Questions...
1: Painting tips ont he Thousand sons...VERY detailed and Intricate..need some advice.
2: Would Different LEgion be better...Cheaper troops, but no Rubric Marines.
3: Recommend some options for my guys?
4: Is Ahriman worth it...
5: Is a Tzeentch Daemon prince comprable to a Khornate Daemon prince...
Thansk for whatever Input I get.
You can play a undivided army that contains all Tzeentch critters and not call them thousand sons. You won't get the free upgrades in your squads, nor will you get easier daemon summoning, but with an Tzeentch army (think of it as an independant cabal) you can have raptors, and Obliterators, and havocs (no havoc bikers BiD).
As for the painting scheme, do a search for a previous thread: its out there.
World Eaters are the easiest CSM army to play, and the take away all strategy from the player. They simply run towards the closest enemy and hit 'em. You have a hard time doing simple things like taking objectives.
Gift of Chaos for any aspiring champions in your Rubric squads. when the enemy assualts and locks that squad up, you can use every round while in close combat to turn someone into a spawn.
Ahriman is fluff, and a cool model, but not worth the points for what he does.
Khorne is hand to hand, Tzeentch isn't. Make your Daemon prince as such. You could make a hand to hand one to bolster your army's weak close combat skills by maxing him out with wargear and gifts, or you can make him a well rounded guy with enough magic to short circut a Farseer. I personally use mine as a good lynchpin, not the main assualt force. Nothing says that a daemon prince must have daemonic stature: he just has to be modeled to show his gifts.
As a tzeentch player i say go for TS but you go for waht ever army apeals to you. Painting tips: Book a lesson at your local GW
Ahriman can be worth but withoout an invun i tend to use a daemon prince tooled up. Also yes a tzeentch daemon prince can be comparable to a khorne one. For one thing khornate princes dont tend to have ranged attack whereas a Tzeentch one can.
Dude, Thousand Sons Daemon Princes are some of the best around. Although comparable to Khorne, if i had to give a placing to DP's Khorne and Tzeentch would be tied.
