Has anyone found some usable tactics involving possessed. From what ive experianced they are too much of a target and too expensive to serve as reliable shocktroops IMO. It would be nice if i knew how to use them effectively, but i have yet to figure this out.
That is not dead which may eternal lie,
for in strange aeons even death may die.
Terminator Lord /w mark of slaanesh, daemon weapon
8 Possessed /w icon of slaanesh
Land Raider /w daemonic possession.
If you roll an offensive power, simply scream forwards with the land raider and drop the possessed on someone. If you roll a defensive power move 6" a turn, shooting. If you roll scouts then run the possessed forwards and use a sorcerer /w lash to get a 1st turn charge (or 2nd turn). If you roll fleet, advance 12" 1st turn, fleet, lash, charge (lord might have to wait 'till turn 2).
That's how I plan to use em. Of course it changes if you aren't slaanesh and the lord is optional. Consider an aspiring champion and possessing him with a daemon to help out.

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
Those are really good ideas Link)
I usually just stick to the same old strategy- present many more threatening targets, and use enough other stuff to get in the opponents face quickly, so that they have no choice but to leave the Possessed alone
As always though, a good Ordnance shot or destroyed Transport can severly hurt/waste time, leaving Possessed to re-think their place in my lists. I mean me to re-think gah you get the point
I'll definately have to try out your ideas Link... problem being, what to I currently change to squeeze them into a half decent sized list?

Honestly, in "normal" Chaos armies, Possessed are going to fall in misuse just because you can roll some pretty useless skills compared to say rending and power weapons
But... In khornate armies or just plain assault troops, like say a few possessed with khorne berzerkers and raptors, well they add to the melee fun and are still by all means viable CC models.
I guess using Possessed in Chaos armies revolves more around taste and general army strategy instead of just slapping in a powerful unit to say "RAWR! FEAR MY POSSESSED!" lol
What do Khorne Berzerkers say to Necrons after chopping some of their bits off? "BLOOD FOR... Eh? Come on! You just take the fun out of it... Scream! Yell! Awww... not even a trace of guts..." *sniffles and kicks dirt*
"You can go far with a smile. You can go even further with a smile and a gun"
Alright i know with the update possessed have been improved but i wanna know if their worth their points. so im asking everyone if i should get a possessed squad, khorne berzerkers, or termis without paying ANY extra points.
Every unit has it's merits. No exceptions.
Possessed also. At this current stage, I must admit, I can't figure out what their role is supposed to be.
Beyond the obvious counter assault unit.
They can be incredibly powerful, but horrendously expensive. If you want a unit which is more reliable and easier to use, probably Chosen or Even Terminators or Marines with IoK will suit you better.
Personally I'm not goin to use possessed. But the models are so awesome I will use my current new to make Chosen and Raptors. The bodies are for Chosen and the wings for raptors. I've just put some Dragon Wings on my Daemon Prince, and standing him next to some marines with the Possessed wings looks really good. And Chosen with the Possessed bodies really stand out from the rest of the force. They really look chosen and special. The naked Possessed heads will go to Terminators and the Helmeted heads will be Aspiring Champions. So even though I will not use any possessed in my army, I'm going to buy loads of the models.
That's exactly the problem with the new codex and models..
there are just far too many options...
You say that like it's a bad thing. That's exactly the problem with the new codex and models..

I was being sarcastic.
Not a good habit to get into so i try not to do it too oten
The choice is wonderful
