So now that CSM get Frags, Kraks, BP, CCW, and a Bolter how are the rest of you guys representing this on the model? For example, do you just say that your bolter marines also have a BP and CCW somewhere and vice versa for the BP/CCW variants or are you adding some extra bits? I don't know about you but I don't want to go back and put those pistol pouches on every bolter marine I own. Not to mention the fact that I don't know where I would even put a bolter for a CSM using a chainsword and bolt pistol.
It's not necessary to represent additional basic weaponry, though, it certainly is a nice touch to your models, for realism's sake. On c.c. marine units, I've simply added the bolter to the belt, along with the various grenades. They 'hang' from the belt, not unlike a gun holster. It's simple and actually provides a nice affect.
For range oriented marine squads, I've done the same thing with the bolt pistol.

I normally don't model grenades or bolt pistols on my Marines, but in terms of close combat weapons, I am going to try and model chainswords on, because I think it looks cooler. Doubt I could strap them to their backs, but if you take a look at the Space Marine codex, Veterans actually hang their chainswords on their belts as opposed to sheathing them so I think the easiest way would be to model them hanging from belts.
It's standard gear, there is no option to field them with out it. So I say the hell with remodeling all of my Marines. WYSIWYG fanatics can take a Chill Pill, cause it's standard gear and not an upgrade.
I tried to make sure all my new marines had all the grenades and weapons. But the just look stupid with that much crap around the waist. Plus I can't bother spending that much time on a model... I just make sure my special weapons are correct and my champions and lords.

I make sure to at least have all the options displayed somewhere on the unit as a whole. I've got one of the metal Plague Marine models holding a frag grenade, for instance, and I'm spreading all the new sprue options out on the new squad I'm putting together with the plastics. One guy's got the pouch and the frag grenade, another has the pistol pouch and krak (but the pistol will be all nurgled over as if he's never drawn it). They're all staying true to their True Grit heritage, however, and are sporting their bolters one handed for the most part. That way, they can hold their plague knives.
I'd agree that it's ridiculous to demand all that on each model, though. They'd look too bogged down.
What happened to the rule that a model could only carry 2 weapons? I don't think I have misread all the other codices I own. Admittedly I don't have the last Chaos codex but in the games I have played against CSM in the past I am fairly sure they had 2 weapons at the most.
