O.k, i was reading the new codex, and i was disapointed to find that the thousands sons woundage had been cut in half, but there a.p has improved to 3, but i prefer the fluffy, double wounded warriors, as they could soak up lots of attacks in combat, for instance, my sons killed 2 squads of necs and a tomb spider in combat patrol. Why have gw basically killed the best unit ever!

They haven't. You now get an obscene save. Plus an obscene AP weapon.
Next will come the comment about how they broke your CC list that always struck first in cc, even before nids at init 8(twice your init), and many other such things.
In short, chaos got a lot of great stuff, but they also got put back into a more all around balanced army. Thems the breaks, happened to nids, marines, and eldar. Wait until everyone else gets their nerf bat to the head and then we can scream "GW ruined my army"
But ya, I will say that I certainly liked lining up against 2 wound marines that cost a ton of points and still died horribly to gaunts.
Here's hoping that you are able to find something in the codex that you enjoy and can build your next army around.
16,000+ of Eldar (only need flyers)
7,000+ of Nids (want heirophant)
6,000+ of Space Marines (need rever titan)
4,400+ of Cygnar (all models for the faction)
1,500+ of Legion (just started)
Tzeentch marines have always had issues against MEQ armies, due to their lack of special weapons in marine squads. The inferno bolt restores Tzeentch marines to a competitive level against MEQ's. The inv save is probably better on the table than on paper, because in my experience, most opponents used high strength/low ap weapons to kill Tzeentch marines in 3rd edition. This undercut the benefit of having a second wound at range. Now, Tzeentch marines have a defense against such weapons.
While the 4+inv save isn't generally as good as 2 wounds, you must also consider the inferno bolts, as well as the improve psy powers (doombolt comes to mind as the standard a.s. psi power).
Change is one of those things that we all need to get used to. ;Y
Spambot kill tally. . .337
4+ save is delicious, but I can see missing the 2 wounds...still, you'll be better off in those situations that Rabbit described, and I've seen quite a bit, of opponents lining up lots of high str, low ap weapons. You're still awesome, just different.
I like the new thousand sons. I believe they are very useful for a army playing mech chaos. THe 2 wounds are very fluffy indeed but Rabit is right when he said that they have always had problems with meqs. The invulnerable balances this out with the inferno bolts. The powers definately needed to be upgraded.
I like the overall new feel of thousand sons. Plus my kill-team gets some ap 3 shots in there.
Does anyone else find it ironic that those who follow The Changer of Ways are being the most vocal about their displeasure of the new units? I think it is rather humorous.
Chachazero: Playing with the old Codex is still an option, unless you play either Tournaments or play amongst friends who are too strict upon the rules. If the former, then there's nothing we can do to console you. If the latter, I suggest finding new opponents.
i find them to be much more usefull. having the ap 3 wep is a much needed atvantage. i love charging them up in a rino unloading rapid fire- then deep strik a terminator squad and kill anything else that is left over. also having a force weapon seems to have an atvantage in its own.
I prefer the 4++ save to the 2 wounds as I found most opponents were investing in missile launchers and strength 8 powerfists, implant attacks etc.
This gives me a chance against those things now.
The AP3 bolter is fantastic, my Thousand Sons army can now compete with MEQ's without sacrificing my theme.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
Although it's not nice to directly contradict.. I must take issue with your use of 'dumbed down' in this case Chachazero.
In this case it is a matter of what you personally don't like, which is absolutely fine, and not a case of dumbing down.
Please don't confuse the two. Dumbed down is when things have been simplified,.. not changed.
As for fluff factor.. well, I personally feel that this captures the 'all is dust' feel a little better. It's nice to have thousand sons who are actually feared - as they should be.
Of course, that's just my opinion.
