Looking into the new codex, I noticed that all the Chaos marines and also the chaos lord lost their veteran skills, does this mean for an Alpha legion player like myself I can infiltrate anymore? Or is theres some new logic I am unclear of? Please help i don't know how to adapt to this crisis!
Only chosen can imfiltrate. It gone back to the beginning 3rd Edition where veterans where the only ones that could infiltrate.
The Alpha Legion "every model in the army can infiltrate" army is gone out the window. Good ridance I say, it was a crutch.
Nooooo! , so what are the benifits of Alpha? I see no point anymore, is there a benifit anymore?
The "benefits" are that you are no longer held back and can do whatever you want with your army.
I have about 2-3K points of each of the legions. I still play my Alpha Legion as an infiltrator army. I take 3 units of chosen and a couple of troops squads and it plays differently to my Word Bearers who do not infiltrate at all.
Are the Cultists still still useful at all? Can they infiltrate at least?
You'll hate me for this.
No cultists in the list anymore.
I use mine using the daemon rules. It simulates them being hidden away and then coming out of hiding (infiltration) and helping the marines as required.
Thanks Skarsgard, im going to cry in my corner. at least until I figure out what I'm gonna do.
Mate, post your current list and we'll try to give you some tips.
I initially despaired, like you. I have over 30K of Chaos and felt a little gutted by the rule change but now love it. I still play my armies as fluffily as I can and apart from a few minor tweeks its going great guns.
Also, bear in mind that a daemon codex should be released in about a year. It may contain rules for cultists. Who knows.
Spambot kill tally. . .337
I'd just start by using 2 or 3 units of Chosen, for fluffness - and then working the rest of your army around that. Just a thought though.
