what mark do you all think is the best for the daemon prince. i know that there is many different situations and roles that the prince can be in, but the one i want to talk about it
khorn- more attacks possible kill more models ( not a good one in my opinion, but cheep)
slaanesh- ability to go before most of the charecters and hq's, and ability to use psi powers
nurgle- increased toughness and psi powers.
tzeentch- increased inv save and psi powers.
i would like to debate between the nurgle and the tzeentch marks.
is it better to use the nurgle one for shooting and cc, or the tzeentch one for a better save vs low ap weapons.
i like nurgle as it maks him a lot more durable but then again im using a very large model for my prince and i know that he will be shot at a lot and that increased inv save would be extreamly nice especially when hunting char and fex's, wraithlords
for the psi powers i will more then likley use warptime for the better chance to do more damage in cc.
i will also alwayse equip my daemon prince with wings as that is an almost must.
The increased save gets me all the time. So Tzentch is a winner.
The Mark of Khorne is particularly bad as you lose the potential for a psychic power. It should be a 5pt upgrade IMO.

If you want a cheap Prince just don't have a mark.
I just think losing the ability to have a psychic power is a significant drawback to the mark. Things like mutation didn't have any drawbacks. To be honest comparing the two editions isn't fair.
i plan on having a sorcerer with the lash and a daemon prince. if i lash a unit and assault first turn im going to be in combat and the daemon prince wont have to worry much about inv saves unless they got a p-fist. the mark of nurgle is better in combat vs. the tzeentch one just because you are going to be killing everything in base contact with you and you will be going before power weapons and p-fists unless its a char. now if i were lats say to assault a wraith lord, dreadnought, or a fex then the case is totally different. the increase to toughness is totally negated and the increased save would be much more valuable. but are you really going to be assaulting your prince into these units or are you going to be troop hunting and let the tanks take care of thoes units. its all about personal tast but i have not quite decided what one i am going to take for now not that it really matters as they cost the same in points and i am going to be using the same psi power anyway. after some play testing im sure i will find out what is better although that tzeentch one does seem very inviting.
Slaanesh prince with warptime for me. The high intiative for dirt cheap makes him a great character killer, and he's going before most of the game's units. Combine this with warptime, insuring that you make all of his to hit and wound rules, insuring maximum killage.

Well D.Prince doesnt have frags...
So +1I is rather pointless as in 80% of assults u will charge someone in cover
Tzeentch prince is the best option, Wings+Warptime and CHARGE... one can give him Doombolt to soften some MEQS before charge but its situational...

Some people don't want psi powers on their princes, either for fluff or sheer dislike of them. Additionally, some players desire to make a cheap prince that has more c.c. ability, which the IoK permits. For 140 points you get a flying monstrous creature that is superior to the flying hive tyrant (save for toughness).
The drawback of mutation was its price, not so with the IoK, which matches all other chaos upgrades that confer a +1A.
It's just more options for chaos players, and there IS reason for fielding Khorne princes.
